The Best Game Ever Made In RPG History8666

Neo_Squall from Malaysia says (25/Jul/2002):
Welcome to the world of Final Fantasy VII
Prepare to explore a world of black destruction and unimaginable beauty. Wander through dripping sewers, abandoned towns, and ancient forests.Bustling cities stand high above the slums they have created on a plate supported by pillars, forever shunning the poverty and ruination from view. Despite the yet untouched breathtaking splendor on the outskirts of the planet or the candy colored, plastic facade of the Las Vegas style commerce center, this is a world without hope of tomorrow. The mega-conglomerate Shinra, Inc. has stranglehold over the planet's natural resources through their Mako Reactors, which permanently leach the essential life-force from the land. A few rebel groups have been formed to fight these sinister forces. The most powerful of these groups, AVALANCHE, includes some of the strongest, cleverest and most passionate fighters the world has seen, all of whom have lost something of personal value to the evil corporation or perhaps have suffered even greater indignities. With the addition of their newest member, Cloud Strife, a former Shinra SOLDIER, AVALANCHE may just be primed to win back control of the world. Prepare for terrorism, cross dressing, a train graveyard, a city sized amusement park, fortune telling, animal racing, stealing, snow boarding, and the fight of Cloud's life, which will take you deep inside the planet. You will travel to the bitterest frozen tundra, an exotic island resort, an ancient forest, a village made of giant bones, numerous caves, and Cloud's hometown. Don't fret if you start hearing voices in your head, Cloud suffers from partial amnesia as a result of a horrible event in his past. Cloud is searching for his childhood hero, the legendary Sephiroth, who seems to have disappeared off the face of the planet.

aj from washington says8745

aj from Washington,USA says (29/Jul/2002):
I have to say,the characters are great! The graphics are better than any game I,ve seen so far, especially in the fight sequence. The music really matches the background and the gameplay is like a ferris wheel. It is a lot of fun but you need tickets to advance.

Pay ur respect where it is due!!!!8802

zAcK from Newcastle, Ontario Canada says (1/Aug/2002):
Final Fantasy seven is by far the greatest game ever made and rating it ten out of ten is a gross under statement. I played it when I was younger and got stuck and quit. Yet a year later I went out and bought it again. I have completed evreything there is to do and then some I aloong with my friend have played the game for well over 99:59:59. I have played ff 7 9 and ten and have realized that seven is better in every department (except graphics but for it's time it is). The chocobos far outweigh that horrible card game and blitzball just wasn't all that (I only played it once in the tournament). I will not spoil the game because the storylilne is the number one reason ff7 surpassed REsident evil 2 as my favourite game. When you finish the game you will feel overwhelmed that those geniuses in squaresoft could have created something so perfect. The game was like no other I have ever played the plot and gameplay were just so original. Cloud could beat any one in the ff series. Sephiroth was actually evil unlike kuja and seymour there reasons for murder were human emotions unlike sephiroth and his hatred for the non-ancients. All in all this game far surpasses anything you will ever play for any console.

question9779

A gamer from oroville, california, USA says (23/Sep/2002):
i've played this totaly cool game and i've beaten it also. but here is my question. i read that if you be mean to tifa through out the first disc she will jump and push aerisout of the way of sephiroth's swordand tifa will die instead of aeris. the thing is that i pick the things to try to be mean and they turn out not to be mean. so if anyone knows how to do this please send me an E-mail saying how to do it. thank you for your time for reading this. by the way if any one needs help i will be happy to help you.

Quite possibly the best game on the psx console!!9796

N. Biznis from Neodesha, KS, USA says (24/Sep/2002):
Let me start off by saying that I never liked, let alone played many RPG games before this game. My brother in law introduced the game to me. I love this game. I've played it three times in around the last three years, not to mention the times I've died(hey, not that many), and the times I've started over just to redo some things. I still have all games and play on them frequently, although my first two are all done except to beat the infamous Sephiroth. Well, I've beaten him, but you can't save after that. I love the Chocobo aspect of the game. The game was just great for a 1997 release! A good challenge for people is to really max out everyone's stats,(not just 255, but really like 500!!). Plus, if anyone can prove the white chocobo stuff, please let me know. No B.S.ing please. I have tried it so much, that I would like it to be proved or disproved. The music is boring after a while, but hey throw in a CD, and turn the T.V. music down. I like the fights, it is pretty self-explanatory and the menus let you just glide right through a fight. The Summons on the game are just awesome! I just flat out love this game.

The best final fantasy game by far!9919

Matt.j from Devon,England says (29/Sep/2002):
I would have liked to have given this game eleven out of ten but you cant(!)I have played a few games in my 5 years of being a psx owner and ff7 tops them by a percent off the chart. I love the way it has a realistic storyline right down to the swearing and the people dying, namely biggs, jessie and the rest. The graphics aren't the best but, hey who cares?, what it lacks in graphics it makes up in many other ways. I'd never played final fantasy until i got this and after playing this then playing 9 i found it was obvious what was best , i havent even completed the first disk and i still have all this to say about it! theres just one question, WHOS THE BEST CHARACTER!! Personally i think barrets the best but thats my opinion! for those of you who have never played this once you play it you won't touch any ff lower than it, even if you posess a very long bargepole!

It is the best final fantasy game by a long shot10562

Nonce from Reigate, England says (23/Oct/2002):
I think that final fantasy vii (7) is the best final fantasy on the playstation with it's stunning fmvs and gripping storyline. I recommend this game to anyone that likes rpg games and doesn't mind an old game. All of the characters have their own stories that link in with the other (i.e. Cloud is on a mission to stop sephiroth destroying the world from meteor, and Aeris is on a mission to save the planet from meteor with holy), so as you see final fantasy vii is worthy of more than 10 stars rating and anyone that says differently shouldn't have played the game at all. In my opinion final fantasy vii is the best rpg game on the playstation.

Best out of the series10588

Wingo from Greensboro, USA says (23/Oct/2002):
This is by far going to be the best RPG on this system. The storyline alone gives the game a 10 at rest. This was the first Final Fantasy game i ever played in my life and still by far is the best on ps1 and alwayz will be. There isn't really much to say about this game, except that there will never be another one like it. There are some rumors going around that the ps2 is gonna make a remix on the game. Let's all hope that they do

Best FF game yet10838

Mike from Oradell, New Jersey says (1/Nov/2002):
I read most of the reviews here about the game, and had to write my own opinions. This is THE greatest game of all time. I've owned it since christmas of '97 I think, and have played it countless times over the years. In fact, I'm currently playing it as we speak, and finally beat Emerald Weapon. You do something new every time you play, and being bale to customize characters to give you a slight edge over the baddest baddies the FF world has ever seen, is just cool. The chocobos havent been matched in any game (i've played 5-10) and its just the greatest game
The best part about it is how every character (even Yuffie and Vincent, two hidden characters) have thier own storylines. You can easly identify and get so into this game its scary in a way. Cloud rocks. He is just the coolest freakin hero this game, or any, has ever seen. He's a headcase, a fake (in a way), and is the only man who wears purple that I'll ever respect. He got me into these games, and actually makes me buy the new ones. I keep trying to see if they could replace him, or match him, and the closest so far is Tidus (FF10) or Zell (FF8) other than that, no one comes close. I want this game to be remade for PS2! That would rule so much. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Okay well, enough talk... I have another WEAPON to beat.

Greg Johnson from Las Vegas,Nevada America says (11/Nov/2002):
This game is probably the best game Final Fantasy out there. It is boring in the begining but when you get to the final battle with Sephiroth then it gets exiting. If any one gave this ame a score lower then 8 I hate you. If you need tips e-mail me.

Best game ever created.13259

Sid from Hughes county, Oklahoma says (21/Dec/2002):
Final Fantasy 7 was the first game I bought when I recieved my Playstation back in 1999. The game its self took me 90 or so hours to beat, the first time I beat the game I didn't take the extra time and effort to complete the side guests. Well I am not reviewing my time to play the game but what I thought of the game. Well the graphics were top notch for its time. The story line was very suspencefull, The characters were origanal. It was and still is my favorite game. It had a story line that Final Fantasy Tatics, 8, 9, and 10 could not even begin to live up to. Any one who gives this game anything but a perfect 10 does not have the brains to know a good thing if it walked up to you and droped a million bucks into you lap. I enjoyed every minute I spent in front of my TV gripped to the story line that never once failed to keep me coming back for more.

Final Fantasy 7 was only.......a bit nicer.........than...........Final Fantasy 9......13339

Keith Wong from Singapore says (23/Dec/2002):
I think it was a cool game. But i still think that Final Fantasy 9 was easier to play. The graphics weren't as nice as compared to FF9, but it was still nicer due to the battle format. i liked Red XIII the most, anyone with mi??? :) i think that this
is the best game i have ever played so far.....who noes wat square will come up with next time...keep up the good work!!!! (someone pls teach mi where is a good place to train and how to get a green chocobo------just e-mail mi...thx...rgds)

A game to go down in history13660

Ben says (26/Dec/2002):
I'm a long time fan of Final Fantasy. I have played them all(that have been released in the US) and FF VII was a game I just couldn't put down. The mini games, GREAT CHARECTERS and an epic tale in this unique world will stay with all who play it forever. This game is the reason many non - ff lovers came into the series. It was diffrent and that was the only real problem I had with it but in the end I gave this game a 10 but then again I have given all ff games perfect scores but this one defently desrves it.

FF7, best game ever15747

Omega from hell, alaska says (19/Jan/2003):
I have to say, i have played alot of RPGs but i think this one is the best. most people say that 8 and 9 were the best because of the graphics. to tell u the truth, i dont care about graphics. who cares if the characters were super-deformed? u buy the game to be entertaining, not pretty. another reason i liked ff7 over 8 or 9 is because of the magic system. instead of junction or character roles there wuz the materia system, which i tought wuz very inventive. not to mention fun to use, i remember hours of time i spent on the weapon creatures just making up combos to use on them. now i must say to all people out there, graphics, sound, and all that doesnt matter. You bought the game for the entertainment so just forget the pretty stuff and get to a really meaty game!

AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEE16402

Thomas from Richmond,Ky. USA says (26/Jan/2003):
I like this game so much I beat it in about 1 month I was very pleased trust me you will love this game I think it rules. It was hard at first and the final fight was tough but I really like it. Omnaslash is tough to get but when you get that and Knightsof the Round(a secret summon) the final fight against Sephiroth will be easy.

Quite possibly the all time greatest...16487

CySt from NYC, NY says (28/Jan/2003):
If ever there was a game that changed the gaming industry, FF7 is definately one of them. To say it simply, a landmark in gaming. I've played hundreds of games...literally, but very few can compare to this one. Although old as it may be, it is still used as a basis of comparason for the newer rpgs. It's constantly refer to in gaming magazines and websites alike. If that's not proof enough of it's greatness, then perhaps the fact that it sold more copies than any other previous game should convince you. This is the one game that encompasses all aspects of RPG and then some. The usage of CGFMV (computer graphic full motion video) is stunning considering how old this game is now. I still enjoy watching the north cannon fire a round through sephiroth's weapon. Oh and how about that last spell from sephi? oh man...nothing has been able to top that one. ok, enough reminiscing, moving on with the review! Graphics: they are great and the cut scenes are fanatastic. Try to keep in mind that this game is not by any means new. The graphics are not up to par with today's standards. However, they are better than nearly all the PS1 games. The sound is way better than most rpgs, actually, I believe they released a sound track for this game...that's a sign of a good sound track. Game play: ok, here is the deal with this, it's turn based tatical game. meaning, your characters take turns to act and cannot act simultaneously. Also, your character cannot move from his position on the field. Not like... Mario 64, where your control movements dictate your character movements. Instead your controls effect what ability, spell, or summon your character uses. All of these actions can be acquired through "Materia". You'll learn more about them during game. Personal note: I know everyone loves the "knights of the round" summon, but for me...it's "bahamut zero" all the way. Not as devastating, but much cooler CG. The Replayability on this game is very high. Once you go through it, you wonder what you missed, in items as well as plot lines. This story line can be very confusing and I've often heard gamers playing it through 2,3, and even 5 times over just to get all the details of the story line...yeah, it's that good. Although, it's the same "Doomsday" scenario, it nonetheless absorbs you into it's world and makes you care for a planet that only exists in digital form...how odd eh? Fun Factor: 10 10 10! I can say it again if you like... The main thing that got me hooked are the "Materia" they are so many different varieties that can do different things and to top it all off, you can link a automated action from a "materia" to another automated action from another "materia", thus providing the means to create some wicked combos. Believe me gamer, you'll be at wonder at the possibilites of power held within the "Materia." As for Originality: I give it a 9...It should be 10, but you know...that whole "doomsday" thing...it's been used too often in games. Value: considering this game is now part of the "classics" series and under $20 bucks. You simply cannot go wrong with this purchase. One word of caution though, be prepared to spend any where from 50-70hrs on this game. It's all a matter of how far you are willing to go to find all the secrets in the game...they are alot of them...I assure you. This game is truly deserving of it's epic title.

I am starting a petition with my friend..please join16487

Will from Chicago IL USA says (6/Feb/2003):
My friend and I were sitting around my room yesterday playing devil may cry. He had brought over the soundtrack to FF7!!! As soo as it went on I stopped playing devil may cry, I didn't even stop to save my game. I went straight to my CD case and pulled out FF7 disk 3. Poped it in and beat Seph. I know this is a bit odd but that was my first time beating it. It took me 4 years!!!! The only reason it took me that long is that I was running around getting chocoboos and materia, and i have been on seph for about a year and a half. Anyway it was one of the greatest feelings in my life. We went through 3 of the 4 disks of the soundtrack and then decided that we should start a petition to squaresoft. In the petition we want to have the names and e-mails of the people who would buy a remake of FF7 for PS2 which would have better graphics, not that they were at all disapointing in the normal, but just to play it like that and maybe have them add some side things in it. Also we had the idea that squaresoft makes a game where you play as seph!!! It would show where he went while Cloud and the group went after him. To us it sounded like a great idea. If you also think so or have better ideas please e-mail me at Snotroket69< remove me > at aol.com thank you
