LOD had a plot FF7 was just a bunch of ppl running around who happen to find a couple of bad guys along the way. Also another comaprison wiht LOD and FF7 was that a main character dies in the middle of it (well Aries wasn't replaced) but all in all it is a fun game I still havent finished it though. Let's home this game doesn't pull something stupid out of their ass like alot of RPGs. Oh wait I forgot when it's from Asia it's mystical and has meaning, so my friend says. Only Americans make stupid crap. Whatever.

For all you suckers whop thing the character similarities are to close between FF7 and LOD its not a rip off you losers. They are called archetypes. This type of reapetative character type use has been seen for undreds of years even in literature. It is not a rip that the characters are similar because it was made for the same company. And one last thing LOD is great because of these great type of characters that have been in games for years. It's the story and originality of gameplay that makes this game a clasic.

First, I would like to say that I thought that LOD was a very good game. The storyline was interesting, very few boring moments, and a good selection of characters. Next, there were indeed a few similarities to the Final Fantasy series, but look at the rest of the RPG games out there- most of them resemble one of the preceeding games from one series or another (so stop your bitching people, and get over it).

I really think this is one of the greatests, funniest, interesting, dramatic, games ever made. The plot, the secuenses are just exellent. The only things that burned down this exellent game were the fact that shana couldn't use addition and the bad time it takes to gain exp. and money, after that every thing is great. When I first started playing the game I was facinated by the way the story started. A dragon attaking used to destroy the cities of the county, people who could manipulate dragon and also have their spirits.

I love this game...literally... i would marry it if it was legal. The story is perfect, and the character depth is awesome...the characters of this game have backrounds and past mysteries, not like any regular rpg game character, if you are a rpg fan, you should buy this game, believe me it's worth it, i've finished the game 5 times already and im finishing my 6th time, the game is plain awesome. awesome graphics too!

Legends of Dragoon is one of the best RPGs I ever played. It is much better than the Final Fantasy games and harder to. I like the fact that the battle system is changed a little. The storyline is much better than some and all the characters are extremely good. A small strategy is to use Lavitz until he leaves then use King Albert. When possible you need to ga back to Lohan and buy the Ultimate Wargod. Every area with rock fireflies you shoud stay in the area and get a lot of expierence. Try to get up around level thirty through thirty-five before fighting before fighting the Divine Dragon on disc three.

I loved the game and I thought it was very intresting and challenging. The bosses are tough and the game is long, but that just makes it even better. The final boss I found to be very difficult but and it took me 4 trys to beat him, but the final result is this game rocks and I cant wait for the sequel.

It's definately one of my top best games played ever. Tough I dont know if beats legend of legaia. It's probably its rival. I've beaten the game 4 times! I truly have done everything in that game including defeating faust. Never heve I used gameshark either. If this game wasn't good enough for oyu I reccomend Legend of legaia or the Final Fantasy series. A sequel would definately satisfy my gaming habbits and all the hard core gamers out there!

When i first got the game the first thing i did i played it and ended up playing it for 12 whole hours it was so kool i just couldn't get my mind off it it was like i was in a trance that i couldn't get out of! I then told all my friends that they had to get the game so that way we could help eachother out.

Listen up peoples who say that this is a game of the FF Series. this game kicks the living day lights out of the WHOLE FF series, thats right LOD is better then all of the FF games. Th additions are a little hard to master but if you get them down, youve conquered most of the game. the thing i love about this game is you have to be at certain levels to beat certain bosses. The graphics could have been better though. The only thing that made me give this game a 9 and not a 10, is that the characters are like the ones out of the FF series, it make sinces listen:Dart-Cloud, Shana-Aires, Kongol-Barret, Lavitz/Albert-pilot....so on and so forth. LOL, if this gma espent a little more time on the game graphics and not forever on the movie graphics it would be awesome. But the LOD Battle graphics are pretty good.

I've read a few of the other reviews starting from some of the first reviews to some of the last reviews and the one thing I keep seeing is the mentioning of Final Fantasy. I don't know the age of most of the reviewers but I'm fairly sure the one's that keep comparing it to Final Fantasy are over the age of 16 years old. Well there is one thing that has to be remembered, ever game gets it's material from some where whether it be from another game or book or even a movie almost always at least some part of a idea was borrowed from some where else. Now I'm a 31 year old male whose been playing RPGs and video console games since it started on the old units that had "tennis" or "ping pong" where on the TV screen there was nothing but the little sticks on each side of the screen that is seperated by a line down the center and hitting the square "ball" back and forth. Sure LOD doesn't have the best graphics, storyline or sounds and no it doesn't meet the same standards as FF VII, not including IX which to me graphic wise LOD did out do it, I don't think it was intended to meet the same standards. The FF gendre was and always will be designed for the hardcore RPGers and in all honesty the storylines for all of the FF series has been all that impressive to me either but then we all have our own criteria of what we look for in a game. LOD to me was still pretty impressive considering the competition it was up against. To me it did do something that the FF series never did, it got caught the attention of non-RPGers and if nothing else brought in new RPGers with it's battle system that no one had ever attempted until the designers of LOD made it a reality. Now I'm seeing other games using similar "battle systems" with similar concepts. All in all I would recommend the game to anyone that isn't a hardcore RPG player just to try something different and who knows they may find that RPGs has something to offer to them that wasn't there before. BTW to all the FF Fans try not comparing LOD to FF while both are RPGs they are each in a category of their own.... each has something the other doesn't, also if you've been a RPGer for very long then you'll also remember Phantasy Star that was originally brought out on one of the first Sega systems so where do you think some of the concepts for FF came from..... think on that.

LOD is a really fantastic and great game. Not only was it cleverly put together, but the dialogue and story that the game has makes it quite popular (for many reasons). I'd have to say that the major flaw of the game are the glitches with the voices matching the text, (ex: Albert's Blossom Storm/Flower Storm addition) but everything else is pretty good. One thing that this RPG may lack is the quality of the music, and although the game follows an intersting story, it tends to slow down as you progress through it, and it drags on making it a little boring.
(That and, all you people who say this is better than FF...You couldn't be more wrong.) Final Fantasy, on the other hand, keeps the person guessing and enjoying the story...But hey, it's still one of my favorites.

One reason is the graghics in the end.It is sweat when you git the divine dragoon spirit.But you only git two different attacks.(1)Divine Ball,(2)Divine Dragon Cannon and you don't git to summen the Divine Dragon because you kill it when you fight it and trust me the Divine Dragon is extremly hard even with the Dragon Block Staff.

LOD is the best game so far that I have ever played. There were times I wanted to give up and put it down but I ended up picking it right back up again and glad I did. Its exciting, the graphics are excellent and some of the places they went to were really well thought of and detailed. I have not finished the game yet but will be sad when its over and wonder if I will pick it up and start all over again?

I've got LOD and FF7, and I see the similarity in characters, but give me two random games and I can point out similarities between them. Y'all dis everything in this game! The music was decent (FF7's got old after the first reactor), the characters where different in details (most are alike in the big picture, which is what y'all shot to pieces), and the battle style was very unique. The luck factor could be random and unrelyable, while the addition system gave you something else to level up, in addition to a dependable way to get high amounts of damage. Yes, button timing is old, but (correct me if I'm wrong) didn't they do that alot in FF7, 8, & 9? What do y'all critisize now? The long battles? The random battles in FF7 were at least three times as frequent, giving you roughly the same amount of time spent battling. Sure, the 32 items max was annoying (and pushed my rating down from 10 to 8), but is any game perfect? As said by another reviewer already, FF7 tried too much to be a movie. The scene where Sephiroth kills Aeris was slow and expected. Revolutionary? I think not. FF7 was an RPG with whoop-dee-do-rah graphics, a battle system like most others, and a plot already old and used. The only thing "revolutionary" about it was the cinematics, which were slow and glitchy. LOD had smoother cinematics (though I have to say, not that much smoother), a battle system unlike any other, better graphics and a decent sound track. The storyline in FF7 had several dead-ends that left me looking where to go for hours, and was confusing about half of the time. LOD at least told you where to go, if not indeed getting you there. While FF7 is not "great", I would call it good. LOD is much better, easily earning a "great", if not "excellent" in my catigory. Chrono Cross doesn't deserve to be called the sequel Chrono Trigger, or a decent RPG for that matter.

A very GREAT game with a very good storyline. If u guys think divine dragon is hard... try fightin his spirit. Haha. The only part i regret not doing in the game was forgetin to grab the stardust in the crystal castle.Haha aftr i went 2 go get it i noticed u couldnt get it.... i was juss missing 1 stardust. i had 49. N for da divine dragoon juss do divine cannon n u'll kik ass wid it against da last form of da boss. juss do it like 4 or 5 time. i only had to do it 3 times hehe cause my characters were already strong.=)have fun playin this game

this game overall was very good.the only thing i didnt like is th ending.it could have been a lot better because it doesnt even let u continue building characters. all in all it is a very good game with great animations both in game and durring movies.It took me 76hr and35min to complete so get ready for long gameplay.

with my ps1 i got a demo disc that had legand of the dragoon on it it had the prarie on it . it was fun so that cristmas i got it. man it totely rocks!!!ffv was fun but this has way better story. ffv7 has no real begining to it.i cant wait until legand of the dragoon 2 comes out next year!!!

I think this the best RPG that I've ever played. The additions used are something that makes the game so cool and that no other RPG can ever top. This game is Awesome All The Way !!!!! I'd kill myself if there wasn't a part 2(or I'd probably find anoher game to play :p)
