I was 10 when i beat this game and took me 2 weeks. Then I decided to sell it<<
Now what I like so much about this game is it's something new. I mean the whole human's turing into dragoons, simply amazing. I wouldnt have every thought of anything that creative. And anyone who says that this game sucks or the graphics blew, wtf the game was made in what 1999-2000, and it's on the ps1 what more do you want. Like the other dude said that graphix dont hinder your gameplay one bit. But for the most part I absolutly loved it!!! Now, one thing that pissed me off was that Larvitz dies. I almosted cried. I was tramatized for about a month when I first beat the game.
Well there ya go thats my ouytlook on this game. If I could I would have rated it a 20!!! :-)

The Legend of Dragoon is the best game ever. If you dis this game, I have one thing to say: GET MENTAL HELP!!!! YOU MUST HAVE BEEN BLINDFOLDED WITH YOUR FINGERS IN YOUR EARS WHILE YOU WERE PLAYING!!! This game can bring anyone to tears, that is, unless you are heartless or just cheated your way through the entire game.
When characters die or are replaced, you almost feel like it's a completely different character (even though the new ones inheiret all the stats from the old ones).
If nothing else, Dragoon is the best game ever because of the pure emotion at the end. I won't ruin it for the losers that beleive all that crap about a rip off of the Fianal Fantasy games. All in all, Dragoon is the best for its CG's, plot development, attacking sequence, and, most importantly, the fact that the crew at PlayStation could make a movie or a sequel (which would be the most awsome thing EVER!).
P.S. You guys at PlayStation are better than anyone else, but I won't say any names (*coughMicrosoftXBox).

I have to admit that The Legend of the Dragoon could not match up to the games like Finaly Fantasies, but all of those that think of it as a piece of crap game are absolutly wrong. I mean come on, the story is great, telling of a warrior that lost his parents in a fire from the "Black Monster" only when he was a child, and then later on finding out that his father is still alive and trying to destroy the world, and also finds out that one of his own partners is the black monster, who all along is the one trying to save the world, but thet's not even the half of it. You never know whats going to happen next. Even though the graphics during gameplay weren't the best, during the cinemas the grapghics were a great force to be reckoned with, although the PSX's FF games were also very good and detailed. Also during the cinemas there were voices unlike any of the FF games (exception of FF10, I've never played it). So all of you out there that call this game crap, I want you all to shut the hell up!!!

I did like LOD,but how can people say that its better than Final Fantasy games especially ones like FF7,8,10 and Chrono Trigger.Some reasons I didnt like this game alot was because you cant use summons like the other RPG's,the only way you can use magic is by using items that you can only carry like 25 with you.The characters were prettylame compared to the FF7 characters.The weapons were kind of sucky and you can turn into weak transformations.The addition combos were kind of good but I hate it that you people compare it to Final Fantasy limit breaks,especially ones like Cloud's Omnislash.I only beat the game once,and dont care of doing it over it again because it was to easy compared to Final Fantasy games,like Emerald Weapon and Ruby weapon in FF7.This is my list of my favorite games in order . 1.Final Fantas7,(2.Final Fantasy 8),(3.Crrono Trigger)

At first i am a big fan of Final Fantasy but now i am a big fan of The Legend of Dragoon when my cousin introduce to me(I am stilll a fan of Final Fantasy).This game is more better and fun than Final Fantasy.This is the best rpg game that i ever play in my life!I had played 8 times already.It is the first rpg game that i play for 8 times!

Kongol was level 45

Miranda was level 39.HA
Disc 1 took me one day to complete.
Disc 2 took me one day to complete.
Disc 3 took me three days to complete.
Disc 4 took me two days to complete.
I think this is the BETS rpg game in the WORLD!!!I say congratulations to those who completed the stardust and fought with magician Faust.I am in the moon and i got only 47 stardusts.Just 3 more!!!Anywhere you must buy The Legend of Dragoon disc and play it as soon as you have the disc coz it is fun and it ROCKSSSSS!!!

u know... i play ff7 and LOD i believe that if you like the ff series then ull like LOD. it might not have the best graphics but it has good enough to keep it in the game.. no doubt some of the ff games have some very good graphics.. but take ff7 for instance.. in the end it leaves u in a pile of stars... i mean come on.. in the end of LOD it doesnt leave u hangin.... the charters are original.. the way the battles systems go.. i give them a 8/10 the. i would recomend the game to people that like the ff series. so.. with that off of my chest.. i dont really appericiate the people calling this game is crap.. u proabibly only say that because u never actually beat the game.. or maybe never could get the hang of the additions.. i donno but its a game worth while.. so if u really think the game is crap just keep it to ur self.. or put in it in better ways.. its not CRAP.. so thank u very much and i would really recommend this game to people that play ff and thats all i have to say.. c ya

Their is nothing more i can say bout this game than it rocks. it may be just me, but does any1 else wish this game had a sequal? anyway, i liked it cause of the story, the characters (cept for meru), the transformations, and also that your actually able to fight the "older" dragoons at one point. i am replaying this for the 2nd time and a good hint for any1 who reads this would have to be 1) don't sell anything that you have only 1 of (armed). i myself accidently sold the therapy ring, big mistake. 2) go for the ultimate wargod on the phantom ship, its worth it, and if you get bored, just save another slot and continur the quest and you can go back to work on the puzzle when u fell like it. their is to much stuff i'd like to cover, but here's a hint for this game. when you get kongol, go back to lohan and you can get his DS there. i think evry1 knows that one but just in case... i think that sony should remake this game with better graphics (leave the videos alone!!!). any1 agree?

Well, i thought that LOD was one of the best games i've ever played. Sure, it could be better, but hey, it was better then FFT, and FF8, that doesn't say much, they both sucked!!! But come on, how can people compair Tifa with Shanna? They are in no way the same! Sure, they both like the hero of the story, but come on, no way Shanna can beat Tifa. Don't get me wrong, I love Shanna and Tifa both, but come on, no way are they related. I will admit, FF7 was the best R.P.G. ever made, but thired would have to be LOD (second would be Shining Force). I loved the battle system, and the transformations ruled!!! The only flaw would be you could only carry 32 items, it made it more realestic, but come on, i play R.P.G.s to get away from reality, not to stay in it. Other then that, really good story line, good graphics, and great charicters.
Dart and Cloud are in no way the same!! Come on, the buster sword rules!!!
My fav was Lavitz, he was the best, to bad Lloyd killed him, oh well.

This is an awesome game, man. Sure the plot sucks but the game was so cool!.The graphics were awesome. No offense but , I thought some of the dragons look like airplanes I thought it was gay that Lloyd died too, man. I mean, dude, he was like my favorite character and then he goes and does something stupid like dying!!! My god, he's suppose to be this strong dude and then boom, he's dead. We didn't even get to play him!!! Lavitz also died. Yeah, that was gay too. Oh ya know what else was gay...Rose. She had to go and die with Dart's father!!! And Dart's father stole his dragoon! What's up with that! And the hardest fight, I thought so, was when I fought the stupid virages! My god, they suck!!! they're like coakroaches! They just won't stay dead! The character I hated the most was Miranda! She is so annoying and weak that I don't even use her. I mean, I really, really really, hated her. The ending suck cuz it didn't have much and cuz lloyd died but other than that, it was cool.

This game totally rocks, in my mind this game holds its own with that of final fantasy 7 & 8, it has a great storyline, fighting style, and you get hooked very easily. One of the things that I still talk about, with ps2 and x-box already out, was the movie after the ghost ship, havent seen a better movie on ps, ps2,x-box, or gamecube, ever. This helps you understand why i love this game so much. It also makes the history better and makes the game more believe-able.the only other thing i can say is.... MAKE ANOTHER ONE!!!!! I'm tried of playing the ff series. Speaking of which, i believe LOD is totally orginal, not every main character with blonde hair is cloud, that got me kinda pissed off it has its own, original storyline(a better one in my opinion) P.S. if u dont like the music of LOD ware some head phones with Smashmouth on,its chemistry is great. Other than that it IS one of the greatest games of its time. The Legend of Dragoon totally blows the competition away.

Perhaps my overall rating angers people, but I long to see a Role Playing Game on the Playstation that matches or exceeds the masterpiece Final Fantasy VII. Though the graphics are quite appealing, a good gamer knows that a game isn't just what they see.
First off, there little to no emotional development with the characters. It's all static. No social changes or anything. WAY TOO SIMPLE. Oh, and the voice acting made me laugh, too. I like getting a feel of the characters in an RPG, and this game just gave me the opposite.
However, Like I said before, the graphics are quite stunning, and so are the FMV's. The backgrounds and sprites are very well done, and Sony should give themselves a pat on the back for that... But not for anything else.
This game isn't anything to get excited about and bored me quite a few times. Go to Blockbuster and rent an RPG made by squaresoft.
Oh, and what's with the name 'Dart' anyway? I wish I could throw it at sony's head.

Some people say that this game totally sucked. I disagree. I heard people say it was similar to Final Fantasy 7's love story between Tifa and Cloud. Maybe a little but look at FF3's Locke and Celes (even though it was less obvious)
Now I'm 14 and my first RPG ever was FF3. And you can see why this got me into RPG's and lately RPG's such as FF8 and FF8 have sort of turned me off. The Legend of Dragoon made me optimistic at first but became more interesting as the story unfolded and the second time playing it I was more interested.
However the tranlations sucked and as with alot of RPG's the random battles p****d me off. But the additions helped until I mastered them all. The music was a little weak with only a couple of songs (all of the boss music) were worthy of an RPG. The graphics were good eswpecially when the people were talking.
Overall it was a good game (but it was no FF3) and I hope that future games include the additions. Thank You.

the legend of the dragoon is a great game. there are items and powerups throughout the game. it may be extremely long but there are great attcks u get while in dragoon form. as your dragoon lvl increses so does your d- atk power. the attacks like red eyed dragoon atk take alot of mp and do a ton of dammage.all atks that use the power of a dragon sprit do alot of damage. the stronget of all dragoons is the divine dragoon. it is non elemental and has no weakness. it only learns two magic atks and had a powerfull d atk. it is also has a totaly cool transformation. the divine dragoon oly come at the end of the game when u fight malabu frama but it is worth the wait. it may only have two magic atks (divine ball, divine cannon)but they are pretty cool.they use 50 mp each and u can only use them 1 time each. when u get this game it may seem boaring but good things come to those who wait, but u will be waiting for about 80 to 90 hours to finish this game.

Everybody should be thinking diferently! Legend of Dragoon is not a rip of of Final Fantasy. It's normal for RPG's to be alike. That's why everybody loves these games. If they combine the good aspects of LOD with the good aspects of FF I think we good get a pretty cool game. I mean for instants: the battle system of LOD and the 3D seroundings of FF and then both the story's toogether. Think about it. The Legend of the Dragoon itself was the greatest RPG I have ever played, when I started to play I was just complitely dragged in with the story, so I just couldn't stop playing. Just now I have finely played it out. And now I'm bored so I'm just going to play it again. I never had the urge to play a FF game again. Legend of the Dragoon has something special I can't say what it is, but it's there. I'm starting a site about Legend of the Dragoon so when it's finnished please come and take a piek. If you don't have the game yet BUY IT.

This is a great game. The story and characters are great. My only beef is that the localization could use some work.9/10
The Gameplay easily tops most Final Fantasies(except 8&10).
The addition system adds some much-needed action to the RPG norm. And the Dragoon system? It is the freaking coolest thing I've seen in an RPG.10/10
The Sound is pretty good. The sound-effects are great and the voice-acting is decent. The music is good but not on the level of Chrono Cross. Oh, and Rose's voice is total $#< remove me > at !.

The Graphics are FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC!!!!!! The CG, animations and special effects are great. The backgrounds look almost PS2 quality( but not quit!) 10/10
This game is hella'-fun. Overall I give this game a 9/10.
The only really bad thing is that after you finish it once you probably won't want to go through it again.

Wow 2003 and people still leaving comments. Well!!! i have had game since it came out and i sucked big one's. i finally picked it up again bout a week ago now im da $#< remove me > at !!! havent died once and all additions for everyone is masterd. Im at 37 hours and just at zenebos (where i previously quit 2 years ago). I got a few tips that can help u newbies. first of all i hear crying about the Divine dragon.i beat him in 3 mins heres how. Save these attack items to save loads of time. Gravity grabber,flash hall, downburst, ice jet, night raid, these will take out the other 2 parts in bout 3 of thos items and there really cool. Well bout all i have to say. O O O i forget something, when fighting loyd give kongol a power up and when u use a lvl 3+ bone crush you will do 1200+ hp dmg!!!! YEa Nice huh, u think thats something wait till you get indoras axe, and sachets will be a think of the past.
