A step backwards insted of forewards | | Rich from Riverside RI says (2/Sep/2003): | I remember lazor blast from my old atari 2600 days. It was a fair game, but it was ackward to control. I did like the boxing game though. it was pretty good, despite the silly looking boxers. I must say, this one should have been slightly upgraded. It belongs back in the eighties instead of now. I give it seven stars for the memories alone. It is a good copy of the classic games, but younger players used to realistic graphics may not like it much. It is a step backwards in this day and age.
| Return of the Old School. | | Booger from Nazareth, USA says (6/Dec/2001): | Being that I grew up in the days of Kangaroos sneakers, parachute pants, and break dancing, of course I played these Atari 2600 classics. In my opinion, Activision was putting on the best games at that time. Now you can play some greats like Pitfall, River Raid, and Freeway or try those unique cheezy gems for the first like Plaque Attack and Cosmic Commuter. You can be nostalgic with the PSX platform and enjoy the orginal graphics, sounds, and game play that would remind you of those hours spent playing while chillin' in PJ's all day as a kid. It's just like riding a bike, and the old strategies come right back to you. Now you can practice up, and tell your older brother to come on over so you can whoop up on in a game of Ice Hockey. The only downfall of the game is that you don't have the "level select" option programmed into a short cut menu. You can pause games and adjust the old A-B difficulty switch, but you have to go back to the main menu to change the level or to change a cartridge. Overall it still a Must Have in the PSX collection. So head out, pick it up with a case of cold ones, call your friends, and fire up the machine and get back to the Old School gaming!
