coming from a real skateboarders eye, i feel this is the best game ever made for ANY system. i couldn't even tell you how many hours have been put into my copy of this amazing game. geoff rowley and andrew reynolds are definitely the picks to begin the game with. they start with the raw street tricks rather than if you started the game with tony hawk or rune glifberg who have vert tricks. i've had my copy of this game for a year now, and i still play it. im addicted to the school level so that everytime i play it, i try to top my previous score. the levels are all excelent, besides maybe the exception of the phoenix level. the mall level rips, along with the realistic quality of burnside. the graphics to this game are so smoothe and un-choppy that anything other than a score of a 10 would make me a dumbass. the sound to this game is catchy as hell too. once you've heard the suicide machines "new girl", you'll find yourself singing it in the shower for the next year. if you don't already have a copy of this game, you haven't seen the true power of the playstation console, BUY IT!!!!!!!!

Tony hawks skateboarding was a good game although it did not have many levels ,decent courses and many different players the challanges were weak and after a couple of goes on each level you can basically clock it and the courses are easy and to do the skills can be reasonabley hard if you dont ahve very good hand eye co-ordination I think for a big game they could have done alot better But on to the ups It has a real in tune with the theme soundtrack and reallife scenarios including minnieapolis and malls the good thing is is that it is not completly desrted with a few taxis chairs plant and just the basic things the five challanges include a hidden tape points and bxes and just things like that nothing to outrageous untill you get on to the more harder levels there are a masive range of different techneques styles and flows each player comes with statistics including speed ollie and grind I thing that it was a overall good game so if you have any more questions i have not answered you can email me

To tell the truth, this game really introduced me to the world of xtreme sports. I started skateboarding with my friends after I rented this game. The graphics are decent, but could've been a lot better. The courses are too small for me, especially the mall level. I had a great time playing the career mode. I liked all the mission objectives and secrets. The only dissappointing thing about this game is the music. I was looking for some hip-hop or some alternative rock. The sounds are kind of corny like when u fall on your skateboard.

Well, the great thing about the game is that the fun never ends. There are many levels and combos can keep being made. As for the "realism", well, who cares? Yeah, maybe some of you may think some of the stuff is impossible, but that's exactly what makes the game so good. And the specials...that's left for you to figure out. There's just so much to do in each level. The game was definitely a hit. It's one of those games that possibly makes you want to do something...skate. The videos are phat. No, I've never played Grind Session, but I will try it and find out which game I consider better. And as for the sequel, I know that is going to be even better. Playing the demo disk was cool, and it looks like there are a lot of options to choose from. I will continue visiting this site.

This probably the best game I have ever played. The first time I played this game was at friend's house. I was really bad for my first time because my friend(Bryan,) was telling me over and over again how to grind. I just could not do it, but I am alot better now. The best grind Bryan could do was a 50-50, but now, name any grind and both of us could do it now. Bryan is moving soon so his N-64 is packed away. I liked the game so much, I wanted to buy it on playstation. I did and I rock at it now. I have Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 to and I am planning to buy #3. I want to thank all of the people who made it and thought of it and anybody else who took place in this game.

When I fist played tony hawks pro skater I thought it was the best and it rocked compared to street skater. But then when grind session came out I thought it was better than tony hawk because it was more realistic with the tricks so you cant grind forever like in pro skater and do like 30 tricks in one and get 100,000 points. also grind session is challenging, I couldn't beat the game when I rented it but when I rented pro sk8er I beat the game with every sk8er. so I think the best sk8ing game would have to be GRIND SESSION then tony hawks pro sk8er so if your thinking about getting a sk8ing game get grind session.

If it wasnt for Tony Hawks Pro Skater, we probably wouldnt have all of these extreme sports games coming out every week. This is the most succsussful sk8boarding game ever made and it sold millions. The tricks are okay, but nothing compared to the sequels (which came out later). The graphics are really good.The characters move faster than the other PSONE Tony Hawk games. It has some really awesome levels, too. I know most about extreme sports games,and this is a must have. If you liked this you would probably also like: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, 2X, 3, 4, Grind Session, Street Sk8er 2, Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX.

I really enjoyed this game the first time that I played it, but found it difficult and frustrating to be able to get some of the tapes. Mainly those that require a high amount of points. The graphics are amazing, and it doesn't take that long to load, which is a good thing for the psone. Obviously this game has a long lifespan, because you never really can be perfect at it. The music is great, and the sfx are absolutely out of this world. I definitely would recommend buying this for your video game library, if you don't have it already.

for all you thps haters, fack you. ok everyone who says its bad becuz its not realistic, well would u lieka game that is 100% realistic? probably not, becuz that would mean that youd only be able to do like one trick every time you go in a pipe, and youd have to balance in the air and land perfectly, then push the board with a button which would get frustratiing. think of any video game, and ask yourself if any of them are realistic.. probably not

i love this game because it is easy to beat and i am awsome at it. i love to play it as soon as i get home from school. i think the graphics are awsome. i really like the songs because they have awsome tunes. i love any games like this one. i have a lot of fun playing this game and am hoping to buy the next few games (THPS-2,3,4). i really hope they come out with more tony hawk pro skater games soon.

I first got this game in 1999.And I still play it!Its really fun beating levels and unlocking new stuff.Think its too hard unlocking stuff?No problem!Theres tons of cheats and codes for this game.Theres also 2 player mode.It has a great soundtrack featuring Suicide Machines,Goldfinger,Primus and more.This game is the best.You will be playing it for months to years.

Tony Hawks pro skater is, by far, the greatest game ever made for the playstation console. The great part of this game is that you cannot get bored of it. I have had it for months without being bored of it once. You are always going for a better score at as certain park or area. If you have any doubt about this games quality, forget and buy this game!!!

I mean you can do anything. Its just too Simple. There's not really any secret areas or rooms! It could be better if they lowered the hangtime because you go up in the air and do trick after trick until you land on the ramp. It's nothing like that in real life. Great game: worth buying. But you can master it.
So it will get boring after a while.

I loved the game. Every skater, board, color, detail of it was great. I stayed up until sunrise playing, and still couldn't get enough! Tony Hawk meets my gaming craves 100 percent.I am usually very critical on judging games, but this one was perfect. Tony Hawk Pro Skater, is by far my favorite game.

tony hawks pro skater 3 is the best game ever made! It had awesome graphics. other people said it was no good , but to me it rocks. the skaters are cool and so are the levels. i plan on geting game 4 for christmas. the decks are awesome! i have never played part 4 yet, but i hear it is pretty cool.

The levels were awesome, but not as awesome as the Bullring or Skatestreet in #2. I still think it is a good game tough. It has good soundtrack, but again not as good as #2. I am saving up my money for number three now and I'm sure it will be alot better than #2.

I like Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 because you can select more levels and do tricks for higher scores. You get to pick another character that isn't on the other Tony Hawk games. I really enjoy Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 because it is not violent and it is "cool".
