Cute, Cuddly, and READY TO RUMBLE! | | Muskaman from Russellville,Kentucky USA says (8/Oct/2002): | This is by far my favorite game ever. It provides hours and hours of in your face fighting action. I've had this game since It first came out and let me tell you, I am the grand master of Digimon Rumble Arena. Renamon is by far the best digimon. Kohenkyo is a good way to mess with a computer, as well as a human player's mind, and if used well Diamond Storm is a very deadly move that can take down even Reapermon with uncanny distance and accuracy. And Sakuyamon is by far the most awesome thing you could ever turn into. Fox rod can deal a ground breaking 7 hits per shot, and Dragon helix can roll up the combo numbers like wild. WUHAHAHAHA!!! If you think I'm not as good as I say, listen to this... I can kill Reapermon in about 15 seconds in hard mode. The biggest combo I've racked up is 36. Beating anyone with Renamon is childsplay in hard mode. ...anyway, like I said, I rock, not to put anyone down. This game is totally awesome. When my friends come over, all they ever want to do is fight against me in DRA. Here are some facts to help you on the game... *the hardest people to beat the game with are Gatomon and Guilmon. *Omnimon has a glitch, trying to grab someone may result in going right through them and getting attacked from behind. *Reapermon's arena has some glitches, so watch out, the unexpected may happen. *If you fight as MetalGarurumon against Imperialdramon in the arena with lightning bolts and the big floating screen you can sometimes do something cool; On the very first round as soon as you start, run and grab Imperialdramon and tap the square button rapidy as soon as you grab him. Sometimes you will grab a hold of him and not let go; You can run around and do anything with him in your mouth until you hurt yourself. *In the forest arena look at the TV to your right; occasionally, It will flash an Image onscreen for a split second. *In the trash level, look at the top at the holes where the grappler comes in and out of; Under both is a little hole, which is a teleporter, when an animation is moving into it, you can jump in and you will go to the one on the other side (only works on rookie Digimon). *Dispite popular beleif, wormmon is not the best digimon to use against Reapermon,Renamon is the best, as long as you can use her well. | awsome air atacking by all is best | | Andy from Trowbridge, England says (16/Feb/2003): | I have never played a game like i have with digimon rumble arena, i meen wow its amazing. My main character of use is Impmon once i unlocked him his summon is devistating if you hold it down and the opponent walks into it but my friends have lernt to avoyed it by jumping over me when i do it. So my statergy has become mostly based on jumping and attacking from the air with renamon and wormon (not bad). My veiw to beating repermon is attack from a distance, from the air or constant pummling. An example of air attacking, use renamon double jump turn towards the opponent and DIMOND STORM it reakes havock when u do it, and another is wormon jump onece then SILK THRED its also a very good knock-down attack. This game is a stroke of gaming geniouse and im hardly ever off it. My view to it is speed is nothing you need stratiegy and well thought out attacks, take the timer off and play against the computer and test out each and every digimon to learn there attacks and make your own combos with trial and error, an example is with reapermon use his grim slasher once you have done that use bone duster your opponent becomes confused so do it again and the same thing happens once you have enouth energy use his vortex to finish him off, if you do it right you should of clocked up a combo of 63 and your opponent is out for the count. I'm probaly a know it all for this game and i can make my battles last for a long time, cause i like savouring my enemy for one massive blitz, my longest round was 2 hours and 35 minuits i was that sad with a stop watch. my fastest was 29 seconds and that was a blitz of attacking with (this may be a shock to people) none other than wormon this was against reapermon. belive me you need lots of practice to time your attacks right when you play as him.
this game for me is lots of fun and you can get carried away with it, its better than super smash brothers, and any of the tekken games cause it is so addictive so its a 9/10 im dissapointed that there isnt more digimon on it like Leomon, palmon, cyberdramon or any of the darkmasters were in it and i would love to see calamon as a playable character imagin him fighting it would be cool to see, but maybe in the next one(if there is going to be one) its a sucsessful game and its fun for all the family.
| One of the greatest games for the PS1 console! | | Paolo from Arequipa, Perú says (7/Mar/2006): | This game is TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!! I play it almost all the time with my little cousin. I choose WarGreymon, and he always chooses either BlackWarGreymon, Omnimon, Imperialdramon (Paladin and Normal), or the one I hate most, Renamon; well actually I don't HATE Renamon, but it's Kohenkyo can drive you INSANE. I play mostly with WarGreymon, and my favorite attack is his Great Tornado. It may hurt a lot, as well as save you from falling off the arena. Here's a hint for Either WarGreymon and BlackWarGreymon. When an attack makes your opponent fall, before it gets up, use a Great/Black Tornado, by pressing down if you're above him, or down left/right, depending on your position. after 1-2 seconds after WarGreymon spins, press triangle again, to continue attacking and damage more. If you calculate correctly, you can have up to 12 combo, and to make him feel dizzy, either hit him or grapple him (move towards him and press as if you would like to hit him. then WarGreymon will lift him up, jump and toss him to the ground. BlackWarGreymon lifts him and kicks him away). You can use this to make him feel dizzy if you keep on attacking, or maybe to make him fall off the arena. When he appears, wait a little moment, stay at a proper distance, and attack with Terra Force. or maybe jump, and attack if you're too close, but jump a little bit. The same goes for BlackWarGreymon, but remember: his Black Destroyer (or Grand Destroyer, I'm not quite sure), I mean, his special attack, is made just from where he is, he doesn't jump as WarGreymon does.
The game is good, but as it has its pros, it also has cons. For example, the Story (Arcade mode) could be more elaborate. ALso some of the graphics are not well made, and there could be alternate ways of fight, because one can get bored just of fighting and fighting. Because it's a game that kids can play, my cousin once told me that there could be an option for quick play, to avoid the need of pressing start to skip the winning pose (we forget to press start all the time!), and another option that lets you change the number of rounds in a match. That's esential in a fighting game!.
Well, although it has cons, it's pros are more, and I rate this game 9 out of 10.

I mean, you can warp digivolve once you have a rookie and you never get a stupid digimon. My favorite so far is Seraphimon. But, look at wormmon, he doesn't warp digivolve, he turns into stingmon wich is a champion. You know what that means don't you. It means that Stingmon is powerful enough to compete with Mega level digimon! I also like Stingmon's moon shooter attack alot. But after those two its Omnimon. Any way, the music is okay, the graphics a very good givin its a digimon game. and I like the fact that the voices of everybody are just like on the show. Iv'e noticed that Sakuyamon has a very powerful regular attack, Dragon Helix. Go against a fire type with her would be a better choice than probably a water based digimon. Well, there is one bad thing on this game, Some of the secret characters are the same mega level digimon that you get when you usae a rookie. It's good but it could have used more digimon in it though. But for right now, it the hands down best game I have ever played for the playstation console, that and Megaman X 5. Let's see... what els is there to say, um.. oh, the battle simulation is very well put together and it's very smooth and simple to control. To end my speach I will say that THIS GAME ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found reapermon alot easier if u use guimon for his air attack in which u can avoid and block eisier w/ his slashing attack wen u do it just above the enemy.then u can usually completly avoid them. I love the way u can attack like in the show, like jumping in midair and then using diamond storm w/ Renamnon! another easy way 2 win is w/ one of the wargreymons, use the air torpedo to avoid and attack as well as i use it 2 avoid falling in lava and stuff, and if u practice enough, u can try 2 stay completly in air using that attack! for graphics, it isnt THAT bad, but the gamplay really is worth it.but I think wat they really need is more levels and enemys as well as alot more diff. mini games and a bigger character choice, like if u play pokemon stadium, they 've got all the digimon u could ever see, except 2 must somehow unlock the more rare and powerful ones, like Lugia 4 example.but otherwise it is an awsome game! I've only rented it, but i own digimonworld2!

And you can't hit them when on the ground or getting up(in fighting games you can) I really did like Impmons control though, they cant get close while hes using summon and the longer you hold it the more powerful it gets,and plus he has long and close range attacks. Too bad his digivolved form is worthless. but the graphics are great and stunning but the control just to turn around was hard and when the guys right on top of you,and your backs turned,your dead meat I thought the game was well thought out and planned which it was but if they had tried to pick one aspect of either fighting or smashbros. style it would've amplified it. Combining the two styles hampered the game a bit,but what can ya do? So I give it a 7.
Pro's: Good sound,Good graphics, all around fun.
Con's: Lack of REAL secret characters (there's only 5 true secret characters)
Poor Gameplay Boring mini-games, Moronic A.I.
| Who's the Strongest Digimon??? | | Dylan Jones from Tasmania, Australia says (14/Oct/2003): | Digimon Rumble Arena is awsome because of its music, graphics and the digimon's own unique atacks. My favourite digimon are WarGreymon, Gallantmon, BlackWarGreymon and Omnimon. The game isn't great because some of the characters and their digimon are missing like Sora and Biyomon, Codie and Armadillomon and Yolie and Hawkmon. Also one of the mistakes I noticed was that Omnimon doesn't have his cape on like he usually does. Another mistake was when you select Imperialdramon (Paladin mode) you can see Davis and Ken, meaning that their digimon DNA digivolved, but that is not possible seeing how when they DNA digivolve the get a completly different digimon. The game is still awsome with those minor mistakes. I don't understand why wormmon only digivolves to champion while the others warp digivolve to Mega. The minigames are awsome to, the hardest being the one with the punching bag. There is also a great selection of arenas for the digimon to battle in. So that is why I give it 8 stars.
| YEAH!!! | | Guilmon Lover from Sweden says (1/Jun/2003): | this game is super! impmon's really cool but renamon rulz! i love this game, but my freinds hate it. that's because i beat them all the time! ^_^ i don't think it's fair that davis gets imperialdramon (wich is his AND ken's digimon) while ken has to live with stingmon! just not fair! i never use any mega digimon when i'm playing, it's good using r1 moves with megas, but otherwise some of them are'nt even as good as the rookies. but maybe i think so just because i'm no good with megas. =S it's a good game but there are to few digimon, so you can clear it in a day. if they included palmon biyomon gomamon tentomon hawkmon and armadillomon, it would be better. if you like easy games, buy this! p.s if you wanna beat reapermon real easy use renamon or terriermon. use terriermons Terrier Torpedo to get away then blow reapermon with Bunny Blaster. if you use renamon, just get him down with kicking, then use Diamond Storm at once, repeat until he's down. d.s

It tottaly sucks when you do your special you miss and now your dead. They should've had that you had to press certian buttons to do attacks, but no you can just use the same move 100 times to win. The only replay value it has after you get all digimon is beating the game without Evolving. Reapermon,Impmon, and Renamon are so cheap when your not using them. Frist you press Trangle x3 with Reapermon to do this combo. Then you use his spelcal, then do traingle x3 to win the math. You get like 1000 pionts for that. My grandfather once owned a chiken farm. Yay! Chikens. Chikens were once a high part of the U.S. encomy. Soon my grandfather will have his day!!! Wait He's passed on. So it is up to me to save the whales and put chikens at the high part of the U.S econimy.

I also think the beginning movie is tight. I always watch it. The fighting moves are awesome in this game. But the best attack is Dragon flare or dark flare from BlackWargreymon. I think Blackwargreymon is the ultimate digimon. I got a perfect against my brother when i was BlackWargreymon and he was omnimon. This game is one of the most original games ever. On the cd case it come in it should say "Greatest Hits." I almost never miss with Terra force or Dragon Flare. In other words I think this one of the best games ever. But like every game in the universe it needs some improvements. This game should have more characters and levels.
For example, I think it should have Leomon, SkullGreymon, etc.

The grafics r cool, I like the sound but Takato (or howeva u spell it) sounds nothing like he does on the TV show. Those who say Wormon is rubbish better try out his digivolution, because Stingmon is brilliant! He is the the fastest digimon of all (I fink he's hyper) & his special move gives u life back. Every 1 of the Digimon has a weakness, so they're all equal. Heres a tactic for getting 2 perfects facing Reapermon with Renamon: At the start, pess O, then go close 2 him & press square, press O another 2-3 times, go close & press square, keep on doing this & u'll eventually get 2 perfects! If a Rumble Arena 2 comes out, I fink it should hav more Digimon.

Its graphics are amazing for a psx game and I love the reapermon music (not as good as sephiroth theme, but amazing anyways) the controls r easy to master and it really is fair cause everyone has a weakness, including BW greymon. When I play I always use wargreymon, but for some reason my high score (345k, rounded) is with wormmon. Pretty much the only problem is that renamon is one of the coolest and she SUCKS. Well I want to give this game as 15 stars but it wont let me so Goodbye for now but as a closing point It is the best game Eva, period.

| Great Game! | | A gamer says (17/Aug/2003): | For those of you saying it is too easy. Stick it on Hard and try to defeat Reapermon! Although it is a great game and very addictive it does lack a few things. The Mini-Games need a lot of improvement and there should be heaps more digimon. It also has very few Digimodification Cards. My cousin and I got addicted to this game as we set up battles that followed a storyline which is very easy to do with the characters (and the handicap setting) in the game. My favourite of all time is Imperialdramon Paladin Mode and his Omega Sword. It was also heaps of fun finding out special ways of combining moves to make powerful combos or interesting graphics effects.

When I fight using Impmon, you know the skill when you press triangle there will be an icy thing. If you press it long enough, the ice thing number will increasing. you can have 5 or more combos using that skill but firstly you have to be far from your enemy or you make your enemy feel dizzy then do what I said. It looks like Renamon's diamond storm, but less combo but though it's cooooool. just look what happens to my friend, once I teach her how to DRA (that's how we call Digimon Rumble Arena) she get addicted only in few minutes and dreamed about it but she never rumble with me 'cause she's afraid of me.
