The really cool part of this game is the capturing and merging
one of the coolest mergings i have ever performed was arpatron and the blue 3 headed dragon (arpatron being the base minion)
thats why i like the merging.I also like the way they have done each individuel forest a differen't design. My favorite is the moth forest because it looks relaxing and the tune that goes with it is as well. I also like the way they have done the tune to suit the apropiate surroundings. I like the minions agni, malti and urvy have (The bosses in the netherworld forests).
What i don't like about this game is the fact that levant doesn't speak at all, that the voices aren't on all of the speeches and i don't like the way that the game turns out at the end of the moth forest where you are stuck in a temple with absoloutly no way out with a tune that makes you feel trapped(like i meantioned before they have put music in that suits the situation).I think they could have put more on the game so that when you beat the chosen one (it is the dream man from the beginning) you can exit the temple and revisit the town and only enter the temple when you please. Overall i think this game is great, good value for money(10 pounds)and it is way better than that pokemon or what ever it is called for the gameboy.
And this game can have you hooked to it for hours on end (i was up till about 1 o'clock in the morning because it was fun)trust me you will like it.If anyone has completed the eternal corridor please email me about what happens next.

This game starts of well, but at a point everything falls apart.
The little kid in the strange suit (beetle forest) u never see again after ur first meeting!
What about the magical super beast the old man bloky tells u to get in ur village? - never happened!
Eternal corridor! Bah. Same old thing over and over and over again! after getting to corridor 22 with my lovely level 29 monster i find things get a bit borring, same bosses over again but u get to fight 2 of them at once, thne 3 at once.
The bosses monsters are ace! How the hell do u get them? anyone no? The only thing that stops me from selling this game is the fact that it MAY be possible to get those bosses minions.
In summary it is a ok start to the game but goes downhill.

this is my first time playing this and it's one of the best games i have. It has sort of good graphic's and great sound effets.You could really get sucked up in this game.Today i started and i'm already at the wind boss.If you like action games this could be the one for you.

Jade cocoon is a very enjoyable game, the game play is good and the sound is great, the only down point is the easyness of the game to tell the truth its more simple than pac-man, but the things that you can do on the game, like merging and the eternel corridor at the end can make the game a bit longer, I had hours after hours of fun and I play the game a lot to tell the truth I began a new file on the game a few days ago.

Ever since i played the demo i have been hooked on this game, even though it took me five years to find it(i didn't have the internet). Jade cocoon is one of my best games and i own a ps2 and an xbox. The best feature of this game is the merging of the monsters you capture. You can create some really cool looking monsters. My best looking monster started as a one of thoughs monsters with a metal shell on its back as the base and then merged with a spiral and then another spiral and another, very cool. Apart from the game being too short this game is excellent. The music and character design are great, also for a ps1 game the graphics aren't half bad.
Also for the truely experience players at the end of the credits you get to save the game and continue on in a sub quest called the eternal corridor. THIS IS VERY HARD i know nobody who has finish this corridor, i myself have gotten to corridor 62, my best bet is that it ends at corridor 100.This game can keep you hooked for hours and the rumour of the amazing beast at the end of the eternal corridor, that you get to capture is all the reason to play for.

the game is ok, but i dont get the eternal corridoor at the end, i got to corridoor 71 and it still went on!!! bu the beasts are very cool and mergin' them is wicked!
Oh and does anyone know the dream man cheat?? please post it if you know!!!!!!!

This game is brilliant. It's like pokemon (controlling your own beasts) & Zelda (getting an ocarina). I reckon it should be remade for the PS2, with a LOT more in it, like a longer storyline, characters joining you & the very best graphics, but keeping the 80s sound effects. Overall, this game is excellent. The sequel is great as well.

This game is fricken sweet! I first tried it out when I was about 9 or somewhere around that age on the demo version and I said, "Dad! When this game comes out, get it as soon as possible!" and well he did and I was hooked. I still play it now a 14 year old playing a game like this...wow you must be thinking. But yeah I really recomend this game it has actually changed the way I have seen things in life. Kinda nerdish but what ever. If you wanna good tip on a good monster combo that my dad and I have created it's Skullcap he was created by simply mixing a Patalchu and Terfrayd in that order. I also like the Spider Forest Netherworld song. Dont even get me started on the Eternal corridor song! those indian sounds are fricken disturbing it just makes you wanna say, "Oh god get me out of this crazy place I think the indians are going to kill the crap out of me!"

i found a kl extra bit... if u click on the merge option then select 1 of your beast and an empty slot then it shows loads of different minions!!!
its pretty kl for the mergin how it takes the shape of one minion and the skin of another and mixs them 2gether
wot annoyed me was how u cud neva leave the temple at the end
i always wondered wot wud happen if u cud get bak
i had a freind who asked me questions about the game everyday as i was further through than him
(and Better)
but after we got 2 the eternal corridor we moved on and neva completed it
i had lvl 28minions one of which was called 10!! it was made 2 beat the fire boss but i used it on everyboss after that because even though it was water and i neva changed that its attack became so powerfulit cud kill any enemies in one attack even the earth ones!! it was the blue 3 headed dragon from the beetle forest/netherworld forest 1(fire) and the water minions from the second netherworld forest many times!!! and eventually with a beast that changed the elemental type of a battle field
it has low health but massize mana over 150!! it did the water attack that was like a waterfall!!
i had a fire minion with every fire skill which was pretty kl and i also made a sicanjal it had the same attacks as the 4th boss(i thnik it was that 1) and it looked the same and everything it was my highest lvl at 29
i found that the best way 2 make powerful minions was 2 merge them with the same beasts over and over again it worked well with all of mine including "Jiral" which was loads of Jiral mixed 2gether it did that attack that hurt every element the same
i got 2 lvl 18 about on the Eternal corridor but neva tried very hard as i found it more fun 2 merge!!
ill go and try now!! and report bak!!

the demo is cool, but i can't find the real game anywhere!!
other than that, the game is awesome!!!!! it is like POKeMON and digimon put together, only you can mix different monsters together to get new and more powerfull monsters!! as far as I'm concerned, this game is a must buy!!!

Possibly one of the best RPG's to be released in the market. The sound system is simple but terrific! The game itself is quite unique because it is mainly centered on the player's decision on how to raise it's own minions. Either you capture and trained it. Combine and create a new breed of powerful and cute looking pet pals. Or the luxury of solding it to the market and earn yourself some extra cash. Totally it's a different kind of concept.Plus it's a friendly user kind of a game that's why everybody can play and enjoy it. Thera are no problem in the graphics infact it's quite amazing as if you are watching a top rated adventure cartoons in the afternoon. The voice system used in the game is "TOTALLY AWESOME" and resembles a real life emotions. The stoyline is great because the main character emphasizes on saving his dying world, protecting his beloved ones, adventuring on out of this world places and eventually searching and finding the truth about the mysterious disappearance of his father. However there is a little flaws, yes the storyline no matter how great, it is quite short for a RPG type of a game. Thus leaving me or other players shorthanded. Hoping that the developer's will create another exciting sequel.

This game sucks and that's that. I played through this game telling myself it was going to get better, it never did. With a crappy story line and even worse character designs this game doesn't deserve to exist, the entire story is still kind of a blank to me. More than half the game you don't even know what your doing other than wandering through forests catch big monsters in your flute. If you like mindlessly wandering through forests and falling asleep during the game, well the this is the game for you. If not I would suggest running from the room every time you see this game.

I thought the graphics were good and the creatures they had but battle and walking sucked he wouldnt move most of the time I had to jam the controller to make him move. But like I said its an ok game to play(I would definetly play it again)for people who like monster games.

I loved this game since the demo its graphics are awesome, the voices are great too but the length is the worst you can beat this game in a day. but theres somthing that no other game has...Merging! it the best part of the game, it give you the chance to make your own minion.I give it an 8

well the first time i saw it it was nothing, but i became verrry cool, i got very strong minions (level 26,27 and 28) and i'm in the eternal corridor.
Its so cool, but the people who say "this game suck" Suck thereselves, its the coolest game i know!
and lee jeans are cool!

This game was pretty cool, the only thing i thought was annoying was the merging of the minion thing, you always had to say that dumb prayer. i really liked the little girl in spider forest "de-vine, what that? is it yummy-yummy?" i thought she was so cute! my favorie character would probably be Mahbu, or Ra. they were the pretiest ones in the game. the characters are kind of ugly... well all of them are. my favorite song would be of night syrus. it was so peaceful. and stupid kikinack, how do you sommon him!? that got really annoying, in every battle i went to items and the flute was there, but i couldn't use it!!! aw well, this game is pretty cool.
