I just bought this last week for $20 and it was worth it. Although I would recommend GTA3 if you have PS2. The graphics were pretty good considering it isn't exactly new. They were cartoonish sometimes but it doesn't affect the fun. The cars have probably the most detail on them as you can almost tell each car apart, especially the gang cars. The sound was good as well, nothing special but the shooting sounds were done well and you could tell them apart. The background music could of been better though. The gameplay is what makes the game fun. Having the ability to shoot things up, and then run things over rocks, but the good part is that you have objectives to complete. If there were no missions then the game would be nothing other than shooting pretty much and those kinda games aren't that good. The lifespan of the game is good. It isn't hard to die, but it isn't as if you can not walk up to 20 cops, stand there and not expect to die. It is pretty realistic.
The fun factor is pretty high. You can expect to play this game a few hours and not get bored but it all starts getting repetitive after that. Its good while you play it though. Overall this game was worth buying and I recamend it. But if you have a PS2 i think you know that GTA3 is way better. This game is a classic that was fun at its time and still is.

If you've got a pulse you've played the first game an if you liked it you will love this! the gang warfare aspect to the game is absolute genius and all the old favourites like murdering innocents and iceing pigs have been kept. So why have i only give this game 6 outa 10 you may ask well thats simple it was produced 2 years after gta1 an except for the army busting you up if the police cant catch your sorry behind and the gang warfare which i've already mentioned there's very little else new in this game an thats why it sucks gta1 was a huge and contraversal hit so the follow up should of been far superior but it isnt. it is a very entertaining game but if youve completed the first title an lets face it everybody has you will walk through this game once you get a feel for the city's but killing police and robbing cars does give this game a huge playability rating but rockstar could and should of done alot better concidering the size of the grand theft auto franchise

i hate this game its 2D and playstation games are ment 2 be 3D. i got this game in august i enjoyed it 4 about for 3 weeks then i started getin realy board of it i gave it 2 my friend ASHLEY who enjoys any game where the POLICE chase ya..i bet he`s gettin board of it anyway hrs my LST;graphics;1/10 they are acturely worse than SUPA NINTENDO background graphics.SOUND;5/10 i hav 2 admit the sd is quite good.GAMEPLEY;3/10.ah its krap the missions are easy all you can do on FREE TIME is go and jack sqares wich r ment 2 be cars and shoot green,red ect. spots wich r ment 2 be tha ppl.COPIED IDEAS; this game dousent copy any games OVERALL;THIS GAME IS A PIECE OF $#< remove me > at ! If you like games with horrible graphics, this is the game for you. I am surprised that this game got any good revies. If it was up to me, I wouldn't buy this game for 1.00. The thing about the graphics is, it is a top view. Most people (in my opion) don't like games with graphics with a top view. I know I don't. Three words, WORST GAME EVER. This game isn't worth anything if you asked me, of course you didn't. I just hope that you listen to me on this one.

I know.The first GTA wasn't that great.But the new one is.I have got it when it first game out and still play it!Rent it and get the hang of it THEN BUY IT THE SECOND YOU UNDERSTAND GTA2 RULES!!!!!!!!!!LOL!!You can pick this game up at your nearest Circuit City for the super low price of $10.99 WOW!What a deal!I Gave this game a 10 for fun cuz its the best game there is...there was...and ever will be!

I think that this game is great! You can work for different gangs, shoot and run over people who have done absolutely NOTHING to you (ha ha) and run from the police, swat team, special agents, and the army. I have gotten to the point where they get so mad at me, that they bring out tanks against me! This game is a must have as far as I (and everyone else I know) am concerned!

this is the best game that i have ever played on. you can kill as many people as you want and you can also kill COPS!!! once you have killed someone you can pinch someones car and drive away from the scene, trust me this is a great game.it is the best Grand Theft Auto for the Playstation by far.

When I first saw the game and it's 2D graphics I thought it would be rubbish, but when my brother Stuart bought it my ideas about the game changed, It was excellent. Drugs, Bombs, Cop killing and joy riding, what more could a man want. It was the best game ever
