One Heck of a Game |

Final Fantasy eight was my first rpg and the best i've seen up until ff10. The plot is really good and the characters are very diverse. each has thier own story and all the stories conect together in one way or another. they should have had more talking on the game rather than just the song Eyes on Me in the Ragnarok. I think that the game should have lasted a little longer than it did. I thought that the graphics were awesome. My favorite scene was the ballroom dancing with Rinoa and Squall. i thought it was a real challenge having to earn money and collect items to make weapons and such. The magic was kind of a downer. You could only use as many as you had stocked up and it becomes a real prob when you are trying to draw magic from a monster that can kill you in one hit. Drawing GFs from monsters was a problem too, cause you're trying to kill the enemie yet they have this one little GF hooked to em that ya really want, but you're already having trouble defeating them. All in all the game is a real strategic game that presents you with problem after prblem like when a few characters get locked in Caraway mansion or when rinoa gets hooked onto adel. things like that but it is one heck of a game!!! Leveling up is really hard too. Some characters are so hard to level up thaht you just toss em to the side and forget about em until you really need then your in trouble when they get picked to face ultemecia. PROBLEMS! he he he. the ending sequence was really great too. it was long and beautiful. The characters, if you look, are put in puportion. Their legs and arms are the right length and their heads and neck look right. And, for the first time(i think) ever, a japanese game made so that the women don't have Jumbo tits!! if you don't believe me compare FF7 tifa to FF8 Quistis and Rinoa and selphie. WOW and amen to that. hehehe. well i have said all i can about this wonderful game goddbye and have fun playing!!

I just love FF8!!! Its like so cool. im sixteen and i fell in love with squall! coz he looks so real unlike cloud or zidane who looks lyk a freakin monkey!! Tidus is also cute. the draw system took me forever to understand but i loved every bit of it. the game is so hard and long but its worth it. just to see squall calling out my name is the best thing in the world. Rinoa is so cool! I luv this game Contact me all you Squall look alikes, but u have to be 16-20 yrs old. Im a rinoa look alike and i act like her to!!

This is one of my most favorite FFs after the masterpiece FF7. I love FF8 because of the realism and colorful world unlike FF7's poor, lack of towns, and dark Midgar. But 7's great storyline, fun, awesome characters, and humor adds this version as my most fave FF games. FF8 has "real" people who act with emotions and real life personalities. I enjoy this game and I think it is one of the greatest games of all time. It beats FFIX because of its quickness and slow leveling up. I like the fact that FF8 is long because it gives me time to power up my characters, do some card playing, getting GFs, and remodel weapons. I like the draw magic thing and the junctioning. I have no problem with any of them. Although the materia idea was only easier but harder at the same time. I didn't have a chance to power up all the materias before the final bosses. Not to mention the awful chocobo breeding and the powerful materia island sidequests. Who would spend so much Gil and time to run out to the world to find the perfect bird, feed the bird, train the bird, take it to Gold saucer, race it, breed it, until it gets gold. The results are never 100 percent. And the tiring work just gets me mad. Those are some of my down sides of 7.
8's sidequests are easy and less hassle. The Underwater Research center was tough! And extremely long. But the good news for me was it gave my party a chance to beef up to over level eighty. The sidequests in 8 i enjoy very much. I think it's fun and the card quest is very easy and collecting rare and new ones are even funner. 9's card games are tough and difficult. Of course, the cards don't look as attractive as those in FF8. Of course, the GFs in FF8 look much better than the summons of 9. But FFX's aeons are just as cool. Except for Bahamut. Looks like a Walking transformer. FF8's and FF7's Bahamuts can kick his butt! I love FF8 for everything. The beautiful characters, the story, the sidequests, music, vehicles (RAGNAROK!), the lovely Edea, etc. Here's my list of the best FF games I played (IMO)
1. FFVII
2. FFVIII
3. FFX
4. FFIX
The graphics and adorable characters (Zidane, Garnet, and Vivi) of FFIX (minus Quina, Steiner, Freya, and Amarant) is what I like about the game. The graphics in Alexandria in the opening caught my breath. Not to mention the gorgeous Princess Garnet/Dagger. And Vivi's appearance. But the game lacks fun, unfortunately. Not to mention one of the strategy guides makes you go to www.playonline.com so much you just want to give up playing the game. But finally beating the game makes me happy and i was able to get rid of it. Going on the website so much makes my family mad. Why couldn't they just put everything in one book like FF8? FF8 was a very good, and very handy guide. Worth it to me. Esp. when it comes to the sidequests!!!!!!!!!
Well, I think FF8 is definitely one of the best FF games I've played. FFX is a lot of fun too. The graphics are just as beautiful as FF8. FFX is definitely worth playing next!

This is one of the best of all of the its only problom is the it is a long game. The cool thing is that it requires you to think and to figure out the junctioning and to play the card game and the eachra summos are cool it is kind of hard at some points and a snor at some it is not relly long i got to level 100 in about 20 hours with all my ppl and all the beat wepons and eveything else in about 50 hours. I give it a 10 out of 11 it is one of the beat ones but you all should play 11 i don't like some of the music in the game and some of the ppl are'nt good but it is the best game for PS.

The CG graphics were the best i have seen with gameplay to match. Altough it had a confusing storyline which was very hard to follow the game the game stilled flowed well. The baddies were persistenet in the world map which made it quite annoying also the Draw and Jucntion system was a big let down, but you could level up with 1,000 exp at every level so it is easy to get a high level quick. The game has some good points in the story and some bad bits for egsample; the giant spider in the 1st seed mission is intruging, but then you have boring parts eg. the sub game which involves you saving rinoa and have to keep here from going out of the screen. Another let down is the weapon system, were you have to get bits and pieces to make it, it is rubbish. all in all i think even though it is the worst out of al the final fantasy games it is still a brilliant game and any rpg fan should get it

This is my favorite game I own, out of all my games(in all). The graphics are the best I've ever seen in any playstation game(In any game for that matter). After I played FF8 for the first time, the songs got stuck in my head. The gameplay was the best, though. It wasn't a game that was just about killing, it had a story behind it, and the roll playing made it even more interesting. Anyone reading this should definitely consider purchasing this game, if you haven't already.

This is the most customizable game out there. whether you are smart and get the hang of it, and really, really like it, or you are to stupid to understand the draw system and just say you don't like it to make yourself look like you really have an opinion. The characters are so rich, anyone can summon a gf anytime, and the characters can customize themselves like never before! You can make anyone a magic user, and then make the person with the weakest weapon double the damage of te gy with the best. It's all there in the junction system. This game's plot blows away all the other ff's, including ten! I can't convey what a great game this is, RPG gamerz, if you haven't played this yet, and really beat it, (not just the foinal boss, but conquered it) you don't know what a good rpg is!

Face the facts, we all love the Final Fantasy series and they will be around for a while but they are usually pretty long. They can be even longer when you reach a boss that takes FOREVER to defeat. Well, get the information you need to defeat the bosses with the official strategy guide! It has complete lists of items such as Guardian Forces, Triple Triad cards, and information on how to access and successfully complete mini-games and strategies for the Triple Triad game. The guide also contents character art directly from Squaresoft as well as secrets you wont find anywhere else so you should definately check it out.

I love this game and am continually trying to get better BUT am not sure how i would have gone without someone to tell me about all the side quests and the card club. Seems that Squaresoft expected you to know these things!!! But in general a fantastic game, with great graphics and storylines. I am playing for the fourth time and have cut playing time from way over 100 hours to 50!!!

The game is really good in all ways because it has a really good plot, hundreds of side quests like the deep sea research center and the shumi village, total control of your characters abilitys and GF's equipped and loads of wicked animation that looks cool.
The best bit of playing it is the battles, especially the bosses because they take a bit of skill to beat apart from when your in Ultemecia's castle when you cant use magic or save.
The only thing i cant do is get to the bottom of the deep sea research center to fight the Ultima Weapon and draw eden because you first have to get Bahaumt and then fight about a hundred ruby dragons which is solid when your partys at lv100.
overall, I would say for anyone to get it who likes long challenging games that take a bit of time and doesnt take it back if they dont like the first five minutes.
The only game better by just a bit is final fantasy seven which is better because you can use materia.

This game is horrible! I do not recommend anyone buying it! I see no point in this game. It is very slow and very boring. And on top of all things it is a role playing game. How lame is that! This game is very bad do not buy it. The reason i purchased it because i thought it would be a great game because i've heard alot about it but its nothing like that! Is plain out HORRIBLE!

This was one of the best games I have played for playstation, the graphics were great, better than ff9. I think that the graphics were 10X better than ff7. This was why I started to play the FF series. I have almost beten it and my favorite charecter is Squall. The GF's were so cool with the sweet attacks. The juctioning system was very efficient. I liked the cool cinimas. The hardest boss I've faught so far was Edea. She was hard and it took me a while to beat her. Another hard boss was Diablos the GF. FF10 is good because you don't have to fight the GF's. FF8 has it all, action, adventure, love stories, and a stunning story. When you buy it (I know you will) it has hours of awesome gameplay for endless fun.

the were only 2 things i liked with this game:
Graphics
Battles (just the fights not the junction system)
other than that this game is an insult 2 all ff gamrz out ther. It is sooooooooooo easy as well, until the last boss which is ok but i beat it with only Squall and he didnt even have his most powerful weapon, in fact he had his 4th most pwrful. the junction systm jus sux and the gfs did 2. im not sure if i should but FF10 cuz it woz made by the same ppl as FF9.
A complete waste of time

Ive wrote alot of reviews for stationplay and ive been dying to write one for this game. The Final Fantasy sequels are up to number 10 but this game has: better graphics than 9 more discs than 7 and pretty equal to 10. The junctioning system is superb, all the GF's with cool abilitys, new characters and an oppertunity to be them whilst running around, new weapons and a tale of love, hate and danger. The missions can be intense and the cut scenes make the game squaresofts best yet!! note ive seen both 9 and 10 and i have to admit 8 has all that and a super adventure.

Love and battle is what makes an awesome game and this one takes the cake. It has both and it has you willing for an outstanding ending. I've not finished this one yet but I think I'm all most through. If you liked this game you'll absoulutly love Final Fantasy X. It's not exactly the same but it's almost the same story line only even better! I wish it was on PS1 and PS2 even though I have both. If you love adventure and love stories (and like reading) you should try out this game! I give it 10 stars!!!

Final Fanasty 8 is one of my favorite games. In fact, Final Fanasty 8 was the reason I feel in love with the series. I love the storyline, even though it was a little hard to understand. I love the characters, Slephie was my favorite. I thought the graphics were great unlike Final Fanasty 7's squarish graghics. The CGs(very much like Final Fanasty 9) was breathtaking. I thought the ending was one of the greatest endings I've ever seen. This game was one of the greatest games ever made. And if you haven't played it yet you're definitly missing out!!

I beleive that final fantasy 8 could be one of the greatest games in history! in exeeds in music, gameplay, and advances from the chunky-looking final fantasy 7 Cloud (FF7 is awsome too!) to the tall, more realistic Squall of Final Fantasy 8, I beleive also, that Final Fantasy 8 is more challenging that Final fantasy 7 and 9.

Yo,you gotta get this game.Ive done a review for Final Fantasy 9,just thought you should know.This game is the second best of the series.Sqaull is really cool.His gunblades yield amazing techniques.GFs are awsome(eden rocks).I think Selphie is just hillarious.The graphics were great! Music:nothing less than perfect. The characters are the best.The weapons are really cool.I love the junction system.Where if you have 100 of a great magic,(I.E Curaga),if you have over 6000 hp you can easily have 9999 hp,and how gfs absorb damage.It is alot more challenging than final fantasy 9.I mean come on has anyone beat that Frieking omega weapon.By the way if you have beat him please e-mail me on how you did it. Much appreciated.Buy this game.

Final Fantasy, the name that carrys wings like never before, after the 7th game in the serie, the game name will be known by anyone. I think that Final Fantasy VIII is one of the best game ever, The FMW scenes are fantastic, the history is also good, but i think the 7th history was better i dont know why but i think it was better. One simple mistake in all the FF games are that much of the music is a little the same in every FF games, so it is a little - but all the other things are fantastic COME ON SQUARESOFT GIVE US A FF9
