Final Fantasy kicks ass! |

I luv the story line and im playing it now, i like the idea of the junctioning, it is a little confusing at first but then i got the hang of it. It's Mini games are crap but the actual fighting is good, i like the idea of you being drawn to scale so your tall and not 3 foot. I havent Completed it yet but im nearly there, im on the third disk. The junctioning is easy, the graphics are brilliant, i would say it was better than ff7, i think they should make a sequel to it, the only thing is that the story line can be stupid at times, like when squall got killed by edea, and then wakes up in garden ect. I think they went a bit over the top with the gf's, you need them to do everything. I like the idea of rinoas dog, it can help u in battle, and i like the idea that squall and rinoa get off in space! I think it is a brilliant game, its easy to level up, right now im level 79 and my health is 9999 thanks to some quick junctioning. I luv this game ive already seen the ending so i spoilt it really but i dont care, at least i can say ive completed one of the best games ever!

I think final fantasy 8 is brilliant. Sure the junctions are a bit hard to get the grip of at the start when you've just started to play the game but you just have to read the screen to see what you're being told very carefully and you'll get the grip of it in the end it really isn't that hard. The graphics in this game are just brilliant. Final fantasy 8 has the best graphics out of all the final fantasy series honestly. The storyline well that's just excellent really how can anyone question it it 's brilliant. EVERYTHING ABOUT IT IS BRILLIANT for crying out loud you have to agree with me here. Anyone who disagrees is mad.

This was by far one of the most borind and predictable games ive ever played, there was nothing about it that kept me playing except the hope that it would get better. it was a complete waste of money and square soft is lucky that so many people bought it because of the greatness of the previous FF. this is not a game i would recomend to anyone!

The battle system and junction system were really cool, really unique but some parts in the story were kinda corny. Like when they suddenly realize thier all from the same orphanage.I also wish they didn't make Griever use Shockwave Pulsar.I thought they could have made it a little longer like FF7. However I do have some good parts too. I like the fact that they made the people look like actual adults, unlike FF9 in which they looked like 10 yr olds. I liked the GFs. They made them take a whole new picture by adding these abilities. It was like FF6 because you would equip espers and learn magic but not abilities.The graphics and music were totaly cool.The ending was alright, it messes with your mind. I also though Rinoa and Quistis were hoooooootttttttt. Sorry Selphie. I loved the way they made Limit breaks.The best would be duel or renzokuken. I think slot would be a distant third. So uh anyway overall it was a great game.

This was the very first FF game that I have played and when I first played it, it was a little confusing, but then it became a second nature when it came to junctioning. This game is far superior than to FF9. FF9 was a complete let-down. I am currently playing FF10 which is not bad, but FF8 is still a little better, despite FF10's extraordinary graphics and the "switch system", and your aeons or GFs fight with you. The characters and the plot is where FF8 rules. Tidus is a complete sissy when compared to Squall. Well Tidus is already a sissy to begin with. Can you believe they made a FF10 sequel?? If anything they should make a FF8 sequel, clearly more people like it, sooo why not make one? Fan Fics are totally cheesy (no offense to those who write them) but at least those people are trying! Squaresoft should take this idea of an FF8 sequel into consideration. It would sell big even to those who did not like the game, but will buy it or rent it just to check it out. FF8 rocks!

for all of you who think that FF VIII stinks,you're insane!!!it's the best FF game ever!!FF X comes close at 2nd.FF VIII has one of the best graphix.the FMVs were stunning.the music was so awesome.....well,most of them anyway.especially the "eyes on me". it also had one of the most longest and coolest endings ever. so for those of you who haven't bought it yet,i reccomend that you buy this game.FF VIII ROCKS!!!!!!!

I bought FF8 a very long long time ago (I feel so) and I have just finished it yesterday. The main reason for this is that I have given up it after I started to play it for an hour. I gave it up just because I dont like the junction system and most of all, the use of GF. Actually I can accept the junction system but the junction of GF discouraged me. I think the usage of GF was too much and I disliked it! I wanna kill enemies with a sword and magic and not a GF! However, FF8 battle requires too much use of GFs because they are much more powerful than using weapons, the situation changes only when the game is about to finish! The junction system also takes up you time to 'handle' which adds unnecessary difficulties to the game. The 2nd point why I gave it up was that I dont like the 'story' line at the start, actually FF8 carrys no story at the beginning and the sense of 'no aim' makes me dislike it. The 3rd point is that I dont like the card games and the minigames, there is no special reason, I just dont like it. I like killing enemies but dont wanna play cards. (Actually you can finish the game without playing any card games or another minigame) I just deem such card games as a waste of time. As I am not so busy for the past 3 mths, I started to play FF8 again, I try not to quit so early and eventually I finished it though I still dislike the over useage of GF. I think it is the 'character' of Squall which attracts me to play FF8 again. I think we have more or less the same character, and playing FF8 just like watching me in the game, it's funny. As the title stated above, the love story weigh much for FF8 and I give it eight stars coz' it's very touching. But I'm not talking about the love between Squall and Rinoa, it's Laguna and Raine! It's really very touching and I had to admit that I have tears in my eyes when watching the ending scene of Laguna. (I havent fall in love before, the reason is more or less the same as Laguna.....) I think I'm the combination of Squall of Laguna.......I mean the character...........FF series not only provide you with just a game, but the story which attracts you and the characters make you substitue yourself into the game sometimes, what do you see? (my english isnt good enough,I may not be able to express my feelings clearly, pls forgive me)

Unbeatable the story is so touching i laughed and cried through this game i would play this over and over i luv the way it leaves u on a hook at the end of each disc the starting and ending fmv were BRILLIANT i give this a million out of ten. to the makers of this site plz contact me if u have any more info on this game

This game is great! I've all ready beat it twice, relaying on Princess Rhino's limit breaks and Edea, and I don't even have the lion heart or any of the other ultimate weapons!
Its a long hard battle, but not immpossible. My charaters levels were in the 60-80's, though. I'm playing again to get all the cards and do absoultly everything in the game!

This is one of the best games I have ver playeed in my life!! Man the FMV sequences are awsome! The only thing is the first time I played it, it was a bit comlicating but after another game of play, man it was awesome! Especially the gameplay. Soundtravk is nice also. Hey Square Soft! I wanna see nice games in the future!!

This game was wut hooked me on final fantasy. OK... i admit, FF8 was different than most final fantasys. Its confusing, i only understood the junction system my 3rd time playing. sho wat? wasnt ff10? i mean, controlling aeons, isnt that different? sho y doesnt any1 care about that? Final Fantasy wouldnt be Final Fantasy without diversion. personally, i didnt like ff9 as much, and who in the world is neckron???? Also, i want to add one more thing... I hate MP!!!

It's really the best rpg i have ever played in my whole damn life. I have played ff7, ff9, ff10 and i dont know why.....FF8 is still the greatest rpg game i have ever played. FFX graphic was awesome, but then it still cant beat FF8's storyline.
After playing ff8, i became so obsessed with this final fantasy stuff......well i have a dozens or more posters of ff8 characters in my room....i even use the characters name in my essay writing!! My favourite charater would definately be squall leonhart. He is drop dead gorgeous and damn even all my friends know im a ff maniac! FF RULEZ

Ive played this game twice now, and amazingly never been able to beat it! Thats what i look for in a game, yes when Final Fantasy 7 came into stores i got it, and played it, beat it, played it again... and... beat it. I got 8 hoping the story was just as great as 7, but also hoping it would be HARD TO BEAT! I guess my wish came true, im tired of Playing games that have been said to take like... 30 hours to beat. On 7 i had my strongest charector, Cloud lvl 71 and beat Sephiroth at 6 in the morning, barely even awake, never having to cure myself, and not getting Omnislash from The Golden Saucer battle arena! On 8 i made no mistakes, i have the Lion Heart, all my people LVL 100(including the charectors which arent on my team) and the only thing i didnt do, is get save from inside her castle, i have ALL gf's except Doomtrain, and dont even use them ( Bahamut sometimes) I GUESS THATS WHY I HAVENT BEAT IT EH... I RELY ON SQUALL AND IRVINE'S LIMIT BREAKS, lION HEART. i use Aura, and then within 1 or 2 limits the enemy is dead. 8 is the only FF game i havent beat, and i love that of it, even though losing to Ultimicia sucks, after the 500th try any way.

this is one of the games i have ever played...thats including those games from the eraly ninetie's from sierra( quest for glory, king's quest).The storyline is very good, i like the connection they made between rinoa and squall....and one more thing....rinoa and selphie's hot! even quistis is not bad...heh heh...

the first game i got sent was nine and i didnt know what the hell it was but now im a devoted well....obsessed fan! even though there was a few glitches in the graphics the game play was the best!it has witty side quests and the love story fitted in nicely with a story of war perfect for developing fantasy fans;)

this should not be called an final fantasy game if you look at ff 7 brilliant game then you come to ff 8 the creators took everything from all the previuos games and tore it a part the game is a discrace to the ff series thank god for ff9 ff10 for getting square softs name back as good came company. the only good points in some ways was the real life characters, and the bad thing was everything i such as stealing magic the gfs the weapons and limits all very bad worse ff game i have played and that is ff5 ff6 ff7 ff8 ff9 ff10 the best being ff7 and ff10 and worst being you guest it ff8..

I have played countless game throughout my life especially rpg's but final fantasy eight truly was the best experience.The game takes you in from the very beginning as you take control of of Squall Leonheart a 'lone wolf' whose chance encounter with with Rinoa Heartily an exhuberant young woman whose carefree attitude has our hero questioning his morals.....The game is set in in a huge world ,and the theme is based on one of love as this epic story unfolds you are treated to many breathtaking c.g.i.'s making FF8 an even more memorable experience.BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!

Let's face it FF VIII did horrible with the hardcore final fantasy gamers....well most of them anyways. I have been from site to site looking at peoples reviews on how this game sucked hard and well I agreed. Until (like I do with all my final fantasy games) I played it a second time and relized DAMN this is a good game. I always seem to fall deep into final fantasy games. I played 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10 over and over because of how much I love the charecters and the world they lived in. I soon fell for Squall, Ranoa and the other captivating charecters who grace the FF8 world. The ending to me after really paying attention to the charecter development and story had me upset that my journey with Squall would be over. It ended up being my favorite ending(X coming up on a close rear). FF8 is an under estimated game by most and I don't think rightfuly so. The love story was tight, Seifer owned and the world they lived in complimented the charecters development and greatness. This game isn't the classic Final Fantasy but it's not that far off, it has a great story, GREAT charecters and a unique way of rpg style fighting. This game has become one of my favorites an always will be. I would have given this game a four before but I feel compelled to give it a perfect score of 10....for the perfect game.

Anyone who dislikes this one is a complete moron. It's great! How could anyone dislike a game in which one very excellent bad boy good guy decked in leather and belts, wielding a half gun half sword, battling another hot guy decked in awesome trenchcoat with another big gunblade? So okay, none of the villians are as cool as Kuja, but christ the battle system was cool, and the Guardian Forces gave it a little challenge. I could spend hours rearranging how the magic was junction or creating stuff off the abilities you get to learn.
