Saiyuki grabs your attention and doesn't let go.6442

Temagori Hintachi from Balch Springs, (Texas) USA says (18/Mar/2002):
Saiyuki is an amazing game with over fifty spells and nine playable characters. Summons enhance the gameplay with added status changes and spells. The music is good, yet if played long enough can seem a little repetative. Saiyuki is the most original chinese style adventure you can encounter on the psx and will keep you entertained for hours. Saiyuki brings out the desire to create an overwhelmingly strong party to thwart the enemies plots. Not only can you train in dojos recieving their license, if you can beat them that is, you can perform jobs that will provide you with more money and rare items. The graphics are styled like those of chibi and are quite amazing compared to later formats of rpg classics. On scale of one to ten I rate Saiyuki Journey West an eight. The story is complex and can be unfolded in various ways with the accomplishments of jobs and events. Saiyuki doesn't, however, have a good replay value. The summoning could use a little work and the replay value could be enhanced with extras such as new characters, new items, more side quests, and more secrets. When summoning the same graphics are used with all the summons even the secret one creating a slightly diminished will to acquire them all. Overall, Saiyuki:Journey West captures the chinese culture a throws it into a remarkable rpg and I would rate it, on a scale of one to ten, an eight.
