| Mr.X from The Home TEAM says (3/Nov/2001): |
Fifa soccer is the worst soccer series ever.It is really hard to control this time, worse than before. It hard to pass the soccer ball around and its barly a team sport in this game. The players all look alike and thats a bad thing. The anouncer is anoying really anoying. It is also too easy to score a goal. The season sucks.Get ISS Pro Evolution 2!

awsome |
| Greg Ritchie from ACT Australia says (11/Nov/2001): |
fifa soccer 2002 is one of the best soccer sims around. It really gives you a feel on how a soccer game actually works. I hear people complaining about the new passing style, but you have to realise that in real life not all passes are going to hit there mark. It adds a more realistic feel to the game. Other aspects that are awesome include to ability to whatever players that you want and to make whatever team you want, whether that may be an all world beating and conquering all star team that includes the David Beckhams and Micheal Owens or a favourite team that may just include the average premiership player. All in all fifa 2002 is a pretty good all round package - keep up the godo work

Don't Believe What You Might Hear |
| Jeff Hoffman from Atlanta, USA says (22/May/2002): |
I have seen a mixture of reviews for FIFA 2002. Some call it horrible, while others call it the best ever. Who do we believe? Coming from FIFA 2001, where the game was too easy and unrealistic, FIFA 2002 was a nice departure to got on to REAL soccer! (Sorry! No more ridiculous tackling) Game play is complicated at first, but so is the game! Once you get that hang of it, the game is an absolute joy to play.

FIFA 2002 is by far the best soccer game that exists!!!! |
| A gamer says (29/May/2002): |
The graphics are great, the creation centre is cool, and the *new* passing system is a BIG upgrade! The announcers/ commentators are really annoying and distracting, though. They need to find better stuff to say. I like that you can make any player from any team into your star player (so it won't always be centred on David Beckham). The game sounds really good, too. FIFA 2002 ROCKS!!!

The worst ever football game. |
| scroogles from Heidelburg, Germany says (13/Jan/2004): |
FIFA 2002 has managed to do, what most people would have thought imposible, and become a worse football game than the others. It has joke graphics, unbelievably easy and boring gameplay, and is honestly, the biggest waste of 10 quid ever. For exapmle, I beat Barcelona with Newcastle 8-0. The goalkeepers can't save a thing, and has anyone noticed, but you can only score with 2 identicle shots from outside the area. This is stupid, especially as they are shots that most goalkeepers in the world wold save. This is most annoying because on the back of the game, it says 'score great goals'. If you've got it on easiest, and you've run to the corner flag, you can shoot and expect to score. At least 99 per cent of the shots go on target, infact, I think that the only time you can miss is when you're taking a free-kick or about 1 yard away from the goal. The comentry is, predictably, rubbish, but they seem to have put even less words in than last time. All in all, one of the worst PS games EVER.

Great game! |
| Gijs Ettes from Geleen, The Netherlands says (18/Dec/2001): |
Fifa 2002 is the best soccer game I have ever seen! It has the great looks, great control and it's very realistic. But in the easy mode you can score very easy, and in the prof. mode it's 10 times difficult. The two things I don't like are: The dutch national team has not the real names (no1 t/m no25) and the dutch teams aren't in the game, (except for PSV, Ajax and Feyenoord) so I had to make my own favorite team (Fortuna Sittard). That's why I dont give this game a 10. Though it's still a fantastic game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could be better |
| Dave from Derby UK says (3/Jan/2002): |
Fifa 2002 is not as good as 2001.. EA have tryed to work to hard on it and it turned out bad, the only thing that they have really made better is the teams, ow yeh and the music. Also I was playing on the game today and the commentary kept repeating it self and it really screwed... if your thinking of buying it get an earlier one like 2001 and save a bit of money.
|
little improvement over 2001 |
| Michel Saleh says (21/Jan/2002): |
Fifa 2002 gave the player a little bit more creativity in playing. In 2001, when you figure out the weak point in scoring a goal (cross and a bicycle kick) you will win the game. But in 2002, scoring goals is a bit harder. The game relies more on passing accuracy and creativity, which is a nice real time play.

Best Sports Game Ever! |
| A gamer from Arizona, USA says (1/Mar/2002): |
FIFA 2002 is by far the most realistic sports game I've ever played before. I used to hate sports games before I found this gem, and I havent been able to put it down for over 2 months. In past soccer games (like 2001) you could dribble through an entire team with a few cuts and the trick button, which never happens in the pros. Players get on average one to two touches before they have to pass, and FIFA captured that in this game. 2002 focuses on precise passing and good defense, which is truly how a soccer game should work.

One of my favorites |
| Brian from Mauritius, Indian Ocean says (19/Mar/2002): |
Fifa 2002 is fantastic. Compared to 2001 edition, it has got a lot of new functions if i may say so. But, i really miss the dribble functions of 2001 (using the ctrl button).
anyway, 2002 goes really into the realistic world of soccer. Comments are a bit boring and should be more dynamic like analysing players performance dureing leagues. But it still remains one of the best games. Waiting for better with 2003

fifa games getting worse |
| Bobby from MALTA says (1/May/2002): |
This game really sucks!! They have only improved the graphics. The is not realitisc. For example I create a tournament between national. I also end up playing against small teams like mexico, usa, morocco and paraguay in the semis and final. Teams like Brazil, Argentina, France and Italy are always elimnated in the group stages. Another thing I really hate is that you can't add and remove players from national teams. The people who created this know a lot about grpahics but they don't know anything about soccer.
|
Stupid game |
| Bojot from singapore says (17/May/2002): |
this is one of the most stupidest game that i ever played in my whole life. Its gameplay is stupid.Except for the graphics, there's nuthin else that is good in this game.It is as if only BECKHAM is involve in creating this game.(You can see it in the crosses, all same technique). Furthermore u cannot even cross from the far side as the ball would swerve away. The keepers are some of the stupidest that i have ever seen.As if they are watching a porno movie or something.Long shots from COMPUTERS OPPONENTS especially can easily go into the net.Call me stupid or old or anything, but i think world cup 98 is much much better than this stupid game.As someone had written before in the reviews which is 'the creators are excellent graphics designers but they dun noe a thing about soccer'.PLEASE EASPORTS.YOu can do much better than this.

The Bomb Of All Soccer Games |
| Muhd Azfar Bin Abdul Aziz from Malaysia says (17/May/2002): |
Fifa keeps getting better every year and this one is the best yet. Every time I play it, I feel as if I am one of the players in the game. This game brings out my pain when I play it. It is as if I was in paradise. But I wish the graphics was better. And it is so easy to score a goal. But anyway, it is still the bomb of all soccer games

Thousand kisses to EA Sports......................... |
| MITHUN from Ernakulam,Kerala says (6/Jun/2002): |
EA has really tried hard on creating FIFA 2002 , and it show in the game and of course in the opening animated sequence. It is a bit tougher than FIFA 2001. In fifa 2001 where ever your player are when he shoots the ball it goes to the opponents goal post. In FIFA 2002 the passing is a bit more realistic and the depends on the direction which you have given. Overall this game is really great and it is worth your money.
|
Top graphics...but little gameplay. |
| Diego Gil from Miami, Florida says (9/Jun/2002): |
okay...you like soccer so you go and get fifa 2002. get ready for a hard time. the controls are more or less the same, but the passing and shooting is as realistic as it gets. you dont really think that a player will alwasys be able to shot straight at the goal do you? or that every pass will always reach your players foot right? good 'cause in that case soccer would be boring and easy. The game really puts you in the field , and does it so good that you can almost feel the sweat on your face and pain in your in your lungs from running. BAD: C'mon EA you can do better on the comments...those guys always say the same...and if you want to show passion in the game....how about making those guys scream the goals like if it was the world cup final...no they just say it..." oh he let one in...good shot" What about a little " he shots and yes!!! Gooooooooooooaaaaaallllll!!!!" in the game, what ever happened to the options of hearing the goal scream, the horn, or the fireworks from past games like: fifa 95 or world cup 98?? Huh? give all of us something to make each goal exiting!! Sound is great...the crowd never stops...they cheer every time the ball is near the area, the intro rocks, and so does the music. funfactor is great and it never stops. go and get the game and get one for your friend it kicks butt, yet it could be better!

Has Pros and Cons |
| Infinity from Richmond, USA says (25/Jun/2002): |
This game is okay. It has great graphics and music. The anouncers actually say the truth most of the time, unlike other games where they make stupid remarks about something that's not happening. However, I can find some bad things. They have left out some important leagues that soccer cannot live without. For example, why in the world do they not have the Dutch League? They had it before. Also about Holland: the national team does not have names. It is one of the best teams and should have an entire roster listed. Some of the players are actually listed on their clubs but not on the national team. I don't get that. Also, Fifa should add the Russian League. Finally, I don't see anyway that I could play an actual worldcup. If anyone knows how and there is a way, contact me.

Tedious |
| A gamer from Nottingham, UK says (28/Nov/2004): |
I have had fifa 2002 for about 2 months now. Yawn!!! I started a new league with Real Madrid after 17 matches My goals difference is huge (For: 125, Againsed:1). I am bored the games are so repetitive, I have to deck a few players to keep myself awake. Frankly I have better things to do than waste my life on this game. The graphics are poor to say the least. The comentary is dreadful the comentator have no idea what you are doing, for example I was playing once and I was dribbling the ball towards the goal, stupid guy said 'cleared away'. You could probably play this game for about 15 mins without getting bored. I brought my copy second hand from the market but it was still a waste of £7.
COME ON EA YOU CAN DO BETTER!!!
|
AWESOME! |
| A gamer from Athens, Greece says (30/Dec/2001): |
It's very nice, even better than 2001! Improved but unfortunately not in all sections! It remains the best soccer game!
|
ENTERTANING! |
| ToM from Cambridge, england says (17/Jul/2002): |
The graphics are amazing especially for the ps1, I think the commentary should be improved and the keepers should be more challenging but it is a fun game that I have played for hours on end, they should have a better transfer system other than that the game is good.
|
no other teams like Dynamo kiev i miss that |
| A gamer from oregon says (25/Oct/2002): |
i wish they still had the other countries clubs like dynamo and spartak or even classic that was really bomb i loved it 2001 for the teams and one thing sucked was there was no ukraine team on 2001 but i wish the new one whould actually have worldcup and other good clubs like Dynamo kiev. and so on
