Its Just A Video Game....... |
| Second12 from Garden City (MI) USA says (8/Nov/2001): |
I left my first review about a week ago and i just checked back in to see what everyone else thought about the game. I did play it a little more, and I still stick by my first review, but as I read more reviews, I noticed a trend of people saying how great the game is and whoever doesn't like it sucks or is an idiot or doesn't make enough money to purchace the game (which is my personal favorite.) This is supposed to be a review of a VIDEO GAME so don't take everything to heart. And Will in Dover, thats great your mom and dad can afford to get you a cable modem, but my bet is your still riding the bus or your board to school, so do your paper route, flip burgers or whatever you do to make a little extra money and try to remember, its just a game.

amazing game tonys done it again |
| thedude from da world says (8/Nov/2001): |
the best th game yet amazing everything... for all you idiots out there who say the boards r to smalls u most suck at the game and cant get past the first level (witch is a litttle small) and for the people who say "what kind of boards are these" would you rather make a little transfer in a crappy stake park or would u rather make a huge transfer in the founddry and get a ton of points its pricks like u who piss me off

I LIKE IT BUT..... |
| ELIZABETH from WAUSAU, WISCONSIN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA says (9/Nov/2001): |
OK THIS GAME IS OK, BUT ITS HARD AS HELL, I CAN BARELY BEAT THE 1ST LEVEL, AND THERES NO CHEATS. GAMES HAVE TO HAVE CHEATS. I WOULD UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE DON'T LIKE IT, ITS ALMOST THE SAME AS THPS 2, I THOUGHT 3 WOULD BE DIFFERENT!!! BUT ITS NOT. MAYBE BIGGER LEVELS, SOME NEW TRICKS, AND HARDER LEVELS. I THINK I HAVE TO STICK TO THPS 2!!!
|
IT'S AIGHT NOT ALL THAT AND A BAG OF CHIPS THOUGH |
| A gamer from oakland California says (11/Nov/2001): |
the game is dope im not going to lie but it did kind of suck it was like a remake of THPS2 but with BAM new levels new clothes new boads and new tricks. IT is also hard, i can't get the deck in LOS ANGELES. does any body know where it's at i have the game for playstation 1 i guess it was all that because it was meant for PLAYSTATION 2 not for ps1. i mean the graphics are the same in ps1 but in PS2 it looks dope you can actually see the face instead of like squares. and you can also see the shoes like if they were real.

| matt from muskegon says (12/Nov/2001): |
i think that the unrealistic levels and harder objectives made this game fun to play again. when i played tony hawk 2 i beat the whole thing in 1 day, but thanks to the fact that there are no cheats yet its taking quite some time to complete. i really liked this version more than any other. frankly i dont understand what the creaters could have done to make this game better for you kids.

An overall good game |
| Jason from Hillsboro, Oregon USA says (13/Nov/2001): |
I think this game was good, not great, because it is mostly the same as TH2. I don't think it was very challenging because as I said, it's the same as the old games. There were hardly any graphical updates, and the goals were the same old kind of stuff that is about to become boring. The new revert feature was a good addition to the game, but I wanted to say one thing in particular. PS1 OWNERS GOT JIPPED! IN the ps2 version there's online play, expanded create skater and park editor, and more unlockable stuff. The ps1 I know cant be online, but the editors are exactly the same, and I'm not going to buy a ps2 just for little things like that. Bottom line is: if you already have thps2 this is good for a rental. Save your cash for something else.

Good Game but 1 problem...................... WHERE IS BOB BURNQUIST??? |
| Ben from Chicago Illinois USA says (13/Nov/2001): |
Not a lot of people have noticed.......... but Bob Burnquist is missing! I am real good with him and I have no idea why they took him out. Otherwise the game is pretty good. Japan is a good level. I like some of the new moves too.
|
At least they gave you PSOne pukes a version. |
| Creeper from Mesa, AZ says (19/Nov/2001): |
This game for the playstation is basically a new version of the previous two games. They've added the revert trick which makes multiplying your score much easier along with a few extra tricks. Anyone complaining about this game is just mad they don't have the PS2 version. You can't do much improvement on the top game for Playstation. There are cheats. It's not as hard as you complain about it. And, the deck in LA is on the ramp you see while grinding the electric line. You want a vastly improved game? Buy the Playstation 2. You want another fun game? Buy this game.

I think they needed better sk8 videos and more levels!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| Ryan, SK8 OR DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! from Greencastle, Indiana, USA says (24/Nov/2001): |
I would skate with a skater for about an hour trying to get their video, but not getting all the decks and stats. I skated with Jamie Thomas and his video wasnt even good. I thought the best vidoes were Rodney Mullens, Geoff Rowley, and Andrew Reynolds. I havnt beat all the skaters yet. but from what i played with some of the skateboarders, it was a waste of time. I also think that they should be longer like in Tony Hawk 2 and 1. They need more levels too. I can beat the game without the decks and stats in an hour. It still is fun to play though.
|
You that don'tlike the game just CAN'T skate... |
| Sk8ta_Mastab8ta from Denver, Colorado says (3/Dec/2001): |
Some of you people that are giving THPS3 a bad name just don't appreciate good gaming and all the hard work that Neversoft has put into the game. Let's see you people try and make a skateboarding game and call it descent. Seriously...New levels, new moves...What do you expect? It's a skateboarding game...they can't make things so much better by doing what you idiots want them to do...Plus, you people can't skate..don't get uptight about virtual SBing...try boarding yourself...can you do this stuff they offer you? probably not..
|
NOT BAD BUT..dont but it for the ps1! |
| kelsey meyer im 11 from cambridge ontario canada says (4/Dec/2001): |
over all the game is pretty good the music.. SUCKS maybe 3 good songs but that isent important what is is the graphics suck and so do the levels i am very disapointed because i do not see any cars to get hit from or people to hit like old people that would be fun because it is cruel but the levels are different like los angeles the games and secret tape is WAY EAISIER (in ps1)and if u want this game do u me a favor and buy the ps2 versain and have fun for me and all the other sad and dissaponted waste of 60 bucks across canada and america kids and whoever DECIDED to change the two versions i will personal kill no jokes gun bamn SCREAM aaaaaa die.
|
The same old THPS. |
| ßè®zé®Kå from Melbourne, Australia says (27/Dec/2001): |
THPS1 waz by far the best game of it's time, and i spent countless hours playing until i past it on every character. Then THPS2 came out and i was impressed by the increase in graphics and the outstanding quality, and addictiveness of the game, but now THPS3 seems like "been there, done that." With absolutely no difference in graphics, if anything i think they're worse, and boring levels, with no really big air gaps, or bowl to bowl transfers, it's a shame to see a game with such a good repuation drop in quality. In addition what ever happened to the speed of THPS1 that waz one of the quickest game's i'd ever played. My verdict is it could be better.

Overall great game |
| Josh from Pa. says (27/Dec/2001): |
Overall I think tony hawk 3 is a great game and there are a few downfalls. The graphics are good and the challenges are a little harder than the first 2. The create a park, is pretty much exactly the same as tony hawk 2! I would be alot better if they would have changed it a little. And there are some new tricks.
|
Good but not the best Tony Hawk Pro skater game. |
| Sam Wiborg from Minnesota,USA says (29/Dec/2001): |
I like the game but I think Tony Hawk 2 is the best.I bought the game and was exited but when I played it I was a little diappointed cause the Level goals are very hard to do.
|
Entertaining |
| Sean from Sacramento says (30/Dec/2001): |
The game is fun and the new tricks are an added plus but the career mode is too easy. You can beat a pro's career in about 2 hours. The soundtrack even though it has good bands doesn't live uo to the THPS 2 soundtrack. Other than that the game is fun and is a must buy if you loved THPS 2.

Rodney Mullen Rules |
| Dork & a half from Concord, North Carolina, USA says (2/Jan/2002): |
Videos need to better(well, except Rodney of course).Needs cooler boards. Levels were fun, But overall not much different than the first two. Worth all the money I didn't spend on it. Glad I got it.
|
PLEASE MORE AND BETTER STREET LEVELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| Mac from G'ville, AL USA says (2/Jan/2002): |
I really like this game, but it had barely any good technical things, THPS2 has better and more realistic street cources. The new THPS has more park and less street, the Los Angeles level sucks on THPS3, everything on their was fake. On THPS2, there were more real skate spots, and better levels. THPS1 comes in w/ both street and park levels, except all the levels were made up places, except for burnside. THPS2 lost the ranking of park levels but gained some of the best and most realistic cources ever, such as Venise Beach, Philli', and more. THPS3 lost the taste in realistic street levels, but made a big boom w/ the park cources, most of them were fake though. I think that THPS3 is still the best of the ones yet for parks, but THPS2 is the all around best for street cources. I really was hoping to have !!!!LOVE PARK!!!! on THPS3, but it wasn't. I wish also, that they had put another school on THPS3. Also, I like THPS3 more than the others due to the the fact that the THPS3 game engine is a whole lot better. One more thing, please check out my sit www.alabamaskateboardng. PEACE!!!!

I Give it 2 Thumbs Up!!! Congratulations guys!!! |
| Joshua P from La Union, Philippines says (5/Jan/2002): |
The thing is,, there's is really nothing to hate about this game... I remember the previous versions were kinda a little to the side. But this Game was thru da roof. There were fewer tricks to do, but hey... who needs all those tricks anyways,,, You'll never use at least 3 tricks throughout the game anyways. Besides,,, Goals and stats were always keeping us busy to do. I remember when we couldn't even find the "noselide the tree" gig.. We spent hours and hours finding it. And another thing, after finishing a persons videos and junk,, it gave us more things to do like that GAP CHECKLIST.. Now that's awesome!!! All in all,, you'll never get bored w/ this game, every time that you beat it, there's always something that'll surprise you and keep you busy for at least a few months or so. AWESOME GAME UP IN DIS!!!!
|
It could have been better |
| Zach from NY, USA says (5/Jan/2002): |
What I didn't like about it is the fact that there aren't any cars or people in the psone version. Also, they could have made better levels, the best one I think was skater island. One other thing I disliked is that the create a skater is still the same basicly. I also think they could have made the park editor better by giving you more options and ramps. However, the graphics and sound are awesome! I think THPS3 is the best out of all of them because the goals were more challenging. THPS3 is the best!!!
|
Overall Review. |
| Chris from Northampton England says (14/Jan/2002): |
Exactly the same as THPS2! Although I was hoping to be able to build fullpipes and edit the hight of the ramps and have the limit of risers to be more that 4 on top of each other I still love this game. Probably because I like the gameplay and I am naturaly good at playing it. ( If you want proof I made a video on the downhill level which looked actually better than the demo versions at the main menu! ) The levels are much better and bigger than THPS and THPS 2. I am looking forward to get a PS2 so I can play the PS2 version.
