GOOD GAME! |
| MohsinMan99 from Saudi Arabia says (9/Mar/2005): |
This game is one of the best games I ever played on the PSX. I finished it about a hundred times but I could not collect all the 17 cards. The chess part was a little hard but I managed to finish it. If you want to pass the third one you simply keep moving to the left. And If anyone of you knows how to collect all 17 cards, please tell me. I could get only about 13 of those. Also, I if you collect all beans of every flavor, youget great things like the Quidditch armor, the Nimbus 2000 , an upgrade to your Flipendo and an Albus Dumbuldore card.

Being Harry is better than watching him |
| A gamer from Australia, Victoria says (25/Dec/2004): |
this game is the best, the best thing is u can be him,u can also do most off the spells and the thing i like most is Quiditch and the most annoying thing is when ur at the Gringotts bank where ur in a mine cart and u haf ta get the max needed coins and i keep losing them the gameplay is great i was thinking only if an idea. Only if u could be free do what u want and interact with the invironment and talk to people but talking to people would be good for computer and also try and figure out secrets urself just like the movie things like going to the great hall and eating, join the duelling club. The graphics r alright mayb its just sometimes with the camera views.

HELP US please |
| KAAMYALNEDIAGKH from Surry, England says (21/Jul/2004): |
ok so here is where we need help. STUPID CHESS GAMES (#3). we cant get past it. we can do everything in the 1st 2 baords but the 3rd is the problem. i feel really bad for all y'all who are stuck on the turkey part (AKA pea$#< remove me > at ! game thinger-ma-bob). we found that very easy. just stay on the freakin bird and when you come to a corner, it turns, be carful. and for you folks who cant do the gringotts thingy i found it very, exciting. the only thing that was hard for us was slipping on the floor (stupid goblins) and turning away from the obsticles in the bucket thingy-mer-bob thing. the devils snare was quite (for my friend who is a blonde) i however couldnt get passed the stupid plant think. all you need to do is charge your wand and shoot out your flipendo spell at the light green colored things. and you can save the game after fluffy. its in the chess hallway. you go through a hidden door to the right. its a big grey block thing. just walk up to it and push the square botton.

What a piece of Turd! |
| Crabby from washington DC, USA says (18/Apr/2004): |
Snore!!! Snore!!! What a sucky game! I have played this. I didn't need asking twice to leave a psone when this game was playing. it stinks! if i could ever like this game i would eat my controller (and that is very hard to do). People don't need games that could be used as teacoasters. they need ones like Driver, Gran turismo, Metal gear. those are real games.
The graphics suck the plot stinks and the whole thing is just dodgy. I was excited at first be cause my favourite book was to be a game on all platforms. then I played it and left it in disgust. How they make such a game? That was what was going through my mind. Bin it bin it now it'll get to your heads and then youll all be playing Dumb games like this.

| A gamer says (24/Nov/2003): |

Harry Potter and the sorcerer's stone was an extreamly awesome game. |
| Melody from Paris, France says (18/Aug/2003): |
I think harry potter and the sorcer's stone is an awesome game because it wasnt to hard but deffinetly not easy. I had a hard time with the four diffrent eye's because i didnt understand how to do it for a while. But i have to admit i really really like harry potter. If you want another challenging game get harry potter and the chamber of secrets that stumped me for a while. This game is deffinetly not only a kids game.

Chocolate Frogs!!! |
| Lynsey from Scotland says (27/Jun/2003): |
I love this game!! I've just got my beloved playstation back after being broken into over a year and a half ago, and my first celebratary game was Harry Potter! Don't see it as a kid's game at all, it was certainly challening and very entertaining!! Was totally flumaxed with that darn pea$#< remove me > at !, and Gringotts, but managed it in the end!! But the game is really quite cool, quidditch was pretty cool, and I don't think the graphic are as bad as its been said that they are. All in all a quality game for all ages! Am totally stuck with the Devil's snare part after sending Fluffy to sleep.

not just for kids! |
| Russell Bowes from London UK says (24/Mar/2003): |
Apparently, the Harry Potter Playstation game "is for kids". Well, it certainly kept us (34 and 41 respectively) occupied for many happy hours (both individually and together) over the Christmas 2002 break. I admit that I am not a fan of the Harry Potter books, and thought the film was OK. My partner is a big fan, however. I was sceptical for the above reasons that I would find the game tedious. NOT! I was basically hooked after the first ten minutes.
I see from some reviews on this site that there have been complaints about the quality of the graphics etc. Well, OK, they arent like watching a live action film, but I found them good enough (although I am not a "Gamer" because I have a life!)and some of them were quite beautiful (particularly in the castle grounds at night). Sound was fine, with some stunning and memorable music (and some highly irritating stuff!) Again, I read complaints that the characters in the game arent voiced by those playing them in the film. So? Is this really necessary? (and there are some characters in the game who arent in the film or the books - Professor Sprout, for one).
So, this is a game "for kids". Well, kids must be very good at these then. Some of the areas in this game had me and my man foxed for AGES. We both found broomstick flying difficult to begin with and spent at least an hour trying to get past the three rounds of the flying lesson - and I found it impossible to get past the Gringotts round.
The game was fun to explore, and there were enough "clues" dotted around to help us both in our individual games. I particularly enjoyed looking for beans! And looking for Witches and Wizards cards (I never did find them all) But thats because Im a big kid.
One source of particular annoyance to us both was the fact that, after you get past Fluffy (80% of the way through) there is no "save" option - if you decide youve had enough after this point, you have to redo the entire section. Otherwise, you have to do 20% of the game (including some of the most difficult bits) all in one sitting.
But this is a minor quibble. This game exercised our logic skills and our neophyte gaming skills, and we have both subsequently played it again seperately. We now consider ourselves experts at broomstick flying and quidditch, although I claim kudos in collecting pea$#< remove me > at ! feathers, chasing poltergeists round attics and finding Witches and Wizards cards, and Himself is better at chasing Malfoy round the castle on broomsticks, playing Chess and moving things out of the way of sleepy trolls! It has provided many happy hours of playing for both of us, and certainly rates as the best £9.99 we spent that Christmas in terms of sheer value for money. So dont let the "only for kids" tag put you off. If you are a child at heart, you will probably enjoy it.

The Game Was Awesome!! |
| A gamer from 290 West B says (17/Nov/2002): |
This Game Is Sort Of Like The Book there's one part that wasn't in the book saving hedwig and the four eyes there is also one part you get frogs when you find a card that's not in the movie but i can't wait till the second game is out that will be even better and challenging!!

Fantastic! Wonderful! Stupendous! |
| Chelsea from Inverness, FL, USA says (28/Sep/2002): |
Harry Potter is a great game, truly addictive. When I first got it I could'nt stop playing it. I loved the books, so it would only be logical that I loved the game too. Currently, I'm stuck on the part where you get in trouble with Snape and you also see Voldermort for the first time and then you drop down into a room full of cave trolls. Can anyone tell me how to get out of there and/or defeat the cave trolls? If anyone is so kind, please e-mail me at dobby666< remove me > at tampabay.rr.com

What i think of Harry Potter. |
| luke holmes from nottingham england says (23/Mar/2002): |
Harry Potter was a good game at first but then it got repetitive and boring so i carried on playing merely to see the end. The graphics are crummy and too square and the game is too easy. I liked the idea of playing quidditch at first but it got too samey and boring so i never pick the play quidditch option when i first load game. The mini games were good at first but then when i got to diagon alley it all got too hard. The game does follow the storyline a lot but it does not require much thought to do so it is a good game to help you unwind from others like final fantasy. But you only see malfoy 4 or 5 times and they are all short. Snape makes one appearance and ron is a nerd. Overall i think that the mags and the makers made too much of a fuss over this games release.

wicked absorbing game |
| PeacockFeatherCrazy from Diagon Ally, London, England says (19/Feb/2002): |
I was given this game for Christmas, and I am busy so I haven't much time for Playstation. I love Harry Potter. The game isn't like the book's story, but that would be too predictable. The characters are all true to tbe book though. I'm not finished yet though. I'm stuck on the 'dang' pea$#< remove me > at ! feathers bit. It is SO annoying. can anybody advise me on how to get past this? I've tried creeping up slowly but with or without the invisibility cloak that blue creature spots me coming. I would be grateful, cos this bit is stopping me completing the game right now..I'm 75% through it. Ollivander don't like me.

This game is great! |
| kayla says (5/Jan/2002): |
This game is really great! it may not follow the entire story line perfectly but who cares! its good anyhow! the only part i found challenging was getting the stupid pea$#< remove me > at ! feathers! thats just one part they could have left out. the game play was good (but they could have left out the sound affects of harry climbing and jumping, that got pretty annoying!) and i thought the graphics looked pretty cool. well in my opinion, this is the perfect game for somone who needs a challenge!
~kayla
p.s i read all the books and loved them!

This Games Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| David from Dover De, U.S.A. says (2/Jan/2002): |
This game is one of the best on the market!!!!!! It's a little tough, but what's a game without it's challenges? There are a lot of things to do. The problem is like that one guy said, everbody wants you to do everything for them. Get your own dang cat back man. Other than that it rocked.

This game was fun and not to hard (except for the Gringotts Part)! |
| Meg from Delaware, USA says (29/Dec/2001): |
This game was fun and not too too hard (except the Gringotts part)! I loved the books and this game goes well with the first book. The only thing i didn't like finding the cat for a ravenclaw?!?!? And people ask to much of Harry in the game, sometimes i would forget what i was doing for someone! Can't you just say no?

Best Game Ever. |
| J-Monkey from Apple Valley, USA says (27/Dec/2001): |
Harry Potter was one of the best games I've ever played. Great graphics. And a wicked storyline. THe games is cool because it doesn't take along time and it's easier than other games. I give it a 10/10.
|
one of the best game there are out there!!! |
| Megan :) from Victoria, Australia. says (26/Dec/2001): |
This game was very well done and the game met to my standard. I thought it was well thought out, but the graphics of the people were not that good, but the rest was good. The game was a challenge which i thought was good because i like games that are hard not slow and easy. So overall i gave this game 10 out of 10 because it is one of the best games out there (hence my title) and that everyone should play it because they would probably like it as much as i did!!!
From Megan. :)

This game is awsome, but one minor flaw. |
| Brett H. from Springfield,MO America. says (26/Dec/2001): |
The game was great!I mean my favorite book is a game. But one thing was wrong. The game did not follow the book very well. It did have the same plot( to get to the sorcerers stone before You-know-who does and save the wizarding world from a time of total dark magic and havoc). It was still fun to play though. The race with peeves the Quiditch games, the Inter-House cup was all fun and challanging and mostly hard. To get to classes was a nightmare.
