I say Digimon World 2 is one of the best games in the world.4622

Brennan Walker from Baltimore,MD,USA says (4/Dec/2001):
This Digimon game is the best out of all the Digimon games. The very first time I played it I got hooked from the start.

Graphics:10/10-I think the graphics are simple and good.

Digimon:10/10-I watched some of the new shows and saw new digimon but in the game there were so many new digimon I did not know about.

Sound:5/10-At first the music is cool but after hearing the same thing for a while it gets boring but the boss music stays cool.

Enviroment:6/10-The domains are sometimes like mazes and the domes are a little cool looking besides that the domains and domes get alittle boring.

Digivolution:9/10-When you see the digimon digivoling it looks cool and it s very simple to gain levels until your digimon gets to the level where it needs 99999999 exp I have no clue what to do then.

Fun Factor:10/10-the game never runs out of things for you to do.

Overall:10/10.

Pokemon is about to die.

Best RPG Game Ever4116

Blue Flame says (24/Oct/2001):
Digimon World 2 is the best rpg game ever made (except for rpg games made by 'square')

i used to play rpg games forever but then got sick of them and never played another rpg again for about a year and now this game pops up and its got me glued to the screen 24/7. At the start of the game it sounds way complicated and you lose interest fast but once you get into the game, everything starts to make sense and all fits into place.

graphics:10/10 - I was quite impressed with the graphics in DW2, it has nice smooth edges and never clips (graphics dont dissappear).

sound: 5/10 - when digimon do there attacks, they say the move they do like in the cartoon. that is definately a plus for the game. but some of the music can get a bit annoying sometimes

fun factor: 10/10 - this game will keep you playing for months

learning curve: it will take about 1 hour to take in absolutely everything about this game

Sound:3
Control:5

Digi Havoc =)3515

Zaur from Santiago, Chile. says (18/Aug/2001):
Ok. I think this game needs a 10, cuz...

Graphics:
Really good compared to the ones in digi world 1. I put a 8 in graphics, because they have the error that all 3-d figures in console games have: sometimes u can see through some parts of the figure.

Sound:
Annoying at first, exciting at last =). Good sound. I give a 7 in sound, cuz the sound easily starts to work bad ( no sound, some parts of the sound, late sound, etc ). That happens a lot when i use Scissor Claw =(.

Items:
Great. Lots o' items. You can get them at cheap prices. Really good. 10.

Enviroment:
Good. To be inside a digital world, the enviroment is great. A 8, cuz it may get a lil' boring when it comes to enviroment (inside domains, guard teams, shops, etc), cuz it's full of machines =(.

Digimon:
Excellent. A plenty of digimon to collect =). I have to confess, i'm trying to become a master virus digi tamer. I want to get all the virus digimon. I don't care if i currently don't have them. The ones i had still count as my collected digimon. 10.

Overall:
Excellent. 10.

BTW, this game is not recommended for little kids. You need a lot of patience to enjoy this game. Patience is a virtue that not too much kids practice. You also need "gaming valor" for playing the game (don't run from everything, you'll need those EXP). Gaming Valor is one of the less practiced things among the kids. =).

A question3448

cheat searcher from Simpelveld says (12/Aug/2001):
There are some things I don't like about this game
you can't just train much levels up unless your digimon is
1000 times dna digivolved.
your digimon don't walk (like digimon world 1)
But the graphics are great
And its funny how the digimon say theyre attacks
What I like the most of this game is that your digimon don't
annoy you and don't die unless you lost a battle
The sound is somethimes boring
But I tink that the game is twice as good as part 1
And the training to digivolution is very easy

But my question is does any one knows how to get some cool digimon I mean i already saw metalgreymon but I want to train kabutairimon and al those other digimon from the t.v. so if any body can help me out say it in your preview please and thanks.

Digimon World 23419

Jbob Walsh from Tecumseh, MI says (10/Aug/2001):
I LOVE IT!!! Everything is awesome. You can digivolve into mega's, which you can't in number 1. DNA digivolving is nice to have, but it doesn't really combine the two digimon. Yes it gives you a strong digimon, but i want something like imperialdramon. i know you you can have him, but hey. the fighting sequences rock to the high heavens. you have to get this game!

LRN from ,cicero,NY,usa says (9/Aug/2001):
Ah can't get much better then this! Cool boss music, cool digimon,
the game itself is big. Come on! The only down side is that Blackwargreymon didn't make it. The best thing is yur team can be fixed and changed so you don't have to stick with digimon ya don't like! Ohya.....this game deserves a 10!

Quality Gaming Experience3182

Digi world freak from Halstead, Essex, England says (22/Jul/2001):
I don't know about anyone else but I think Pokemon has passed it. The games get pretty boring and they are on gameboy, which doesn't exactly lend itself to good graphics, eh?
But when I found out that there was a game similar to this on Playstation, I knew I had to try it. I rented out and at first was not to impressed. But once you get the hang of it it becomes such an amazing game.
For fans of the series they will love this. I personally, rarely watch the cartoon as it not incredibly good ( Except for when a digimon reaches a level it never has before :-) All the digimon are there and although the digimon wont always digivolve to what you want them to, i.e Gabumon to Centaurimon?, they will eventually digivolve to what you want (Garurumon).
The Graphics are pretty good and seeing Machinedramon in full 3-D is great. The sound is average but you do get to hear the digimon say the names of their attacks as they attack. The gameplay is also very impressive. There are about 30 dungeons with different digimon in and each one took me about 3 hours.
Absolutely great game with lifespan, gameplay and graphics - what more could you want.

this game rocks3104

tristian from Leavenworth ,WA , USA says (17/Jul/2001):
this is a cool game . for one it has cool graphics , and is challenging . but there is a flaw for example in the series leomon is a strong digimon but in the game he's weak . i also like the way you digivolve. another bad thing is is that it doesn't translate the language of the attacks . all i hear is japenesse language .

The first wasn't better, that's for sure!!2876

Joe San Miguel from San Antonio, TX says (2/Jul/2001):
The graphics are great and the gameplay is a good RPG style. I have the first one and it isn't near as long as this game. It keeps you going because of all the digimon there are. Plus it's way better than Pokemon. If you need an RPG that allows you to stay busy, this is your game.

Great potential... many errors.2867

EvilPerson from Canada says (1/Jul/2001):
This game is by far better than the first. There are many possibilities for digivolution however to those without the guide and not willing to think some aspects may be confusing.

I will just break it down by creating a few Catagories.

Level Design

For the actual design, it's not bad. However, for creativity/texturing it gets a -8. Very plain and basic domains that anyone could build, with simple square and rectangular maps (I could literally make a better map myself).

Digivolution

Good and bad. The possibilities are endless, however level restrictions are what bring this down. It takes numerous DNA digivolves just to ALLOW your character to eventually get up to Mega.

Items

Mediocre. The thing that angers me is that they go to your server and not straight to a place where you could use them. Just the annoyance of having to Transfer every 5 seconds. Also, at the beginning, there is virtually NO room for items. About 8 or 10 slots that fill up VERY quickly.

This game has so much potential but they just ruined half the fun with level restrictions. It takes about 5 hours to get 3 characters up to level 13, and you have to DNA digivolve them over 3 times just to create a character able to go to Mega form. That's over 15 hours to get one decent character.

Why do I like it?2857

Alberto from Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Mexico says (30/Jun/2001):
Maybe it's because it has great sound effects and graphical images to.
At the beginning it was sort of boring but after a while and i knew what i were doing it made get excited.
If your a Digimon fan you must have this game cause it's very entertaining and hard for the Digievolution.
In conclussion I guess this is a cool game but.... What do yo think?

Why this game is good.2818

Rich from Richland, WA, of the USA says (24/Jun/2001):
Okay, here's the skinny. This game is good bacause:

A. Although the graphics aren't steller, they do make the monsters look good and you can see what's going on. The Digimon looked for the most part spot on and that's a plus. The monsters were cool looking, and the representations of their attacks while again not steller were still amusing.

B. The music was complimentary and although I dought that it will will even show up on the bill boards it never got to be overbearing or annoying.

C. You can actually put it down. What do I mean by this, well you know how most games are, If you pause for a second or are forced to look away, the instant you look back your mortally wounded, NOT HERE. Simply put if your favorite show comes on or you have to answer the phone you don't even have to pause the game, you just switch it over to whatever else and your good to go and you don't have to wonder what the hell happened, EVEN DURING BATTLE, ESPECIALLY During Battles!

D. It's not Poke'mon I don't know about you but I'm getting sick of that (little electric yellow rat).

Upgrade to Digimon World 22797

Death7890749 from Arkansas,USA says (21/Jun/2001):
This game is better than 1(as in I know I have it) because there are longer fight sequences you can see what your fighting and get prepared for so that you won`t get beaten down right around the corner. You can even help you're partner digimon while before you are fighting before you're turn instead of while the digimon is getting killed. The graphics have improved about this much <----------------------->. Even the guide is better because in this one it gives you detail about what you're going into and how to do it. It shows what you must do to digivolve and what you digivolve into. It shows you all the items places what those places do and how much everything costs to get it. All in All I think this game is the best I've ever played and how it isn't as long and over going on the same as the poke'mon games.

Digimon World 2: a sequal, but is it better than the original?2490

DarkTyranomon from New York says (18/May/2001):
At first appearence Digimon World 2's graphics seem to have improves, as backrounds improve and the battle system has drastically changed from an adventure style format to one much closly associated with RPG's. The first 5-10 minutes of gameplay are unfortunatly dissappointing, and leave most avid digimon fans craving more while the power is turned off and the game collects dust. Although this game is rated for kids, I doubt that many will play the game all the way through as patience is a virtue practiced little among them. The 4-way directional control in the cities and the 8-way control in the "domains" are reminiscent of 8-bit controllers and leaves something to be desired from the games predecessor in the field of control. It takes some time to get used to. Progress and development of the game can be summed up in one word SLOW. This game is not recommended for those who want quick battles, a fast paced-game and new digimon at the drop of a hat. For those who have gotten over the clunky controls and the speed of the game; I commend you. It requires a great deal of patience to really enjoy the game. Digivolving becomes more complex with the added features of DNA digivolving where you can combine two Digimon into another. The digivolving sequences for the most part, make sence and are accurate with those found in Digimon Adventure. This makes for some interesting results. Items are abundant and avalible at many stores. The number and complexity are risen as your main form of transportation relies on a Digi-beetle which you can customise as you see fit with cannons, tires, storage sections etc.. The story is decent taking off several years after the end of the first Digimon world game. At its current MSRP price of $44.99, this is only for TRUE Digimon fans (Such as myself). For anybody else who wants to enter the scene I suggest the first game, or the anime series itself.

Need Information For Digimon 2?2488

Carlos Javier from Purto Rico says (17/May/2001):
Digimon World 2 is'nt just a great game it is better than Digimon World 1 but this time is RPG and you will need to train harder than ever to be the best guard tamer to protect Digital City from the evil plans of wild digimons or the evil senister Bloods Knights. You will be entering domains, capturing digimons with toys, defeting boss digimon and training your digimons without stoping until they reach level 99, but to get that far they have to pass throught digivolution and DNA digivolution. You will be traveling in a a tank called Digibettle and with your paterns digimons that going to fight for peace. When your digimon reach level 11 they can digivolve to champion level and they learn techniques at level 12.They would digivolve until they reach Mega level. And if a digimon reach a level and won't go any level up, is something you most discover to get a level more.
