A great game for a great system |
| Deathknight from south dakota says (21/Dec/2000): |
This game earned it's right to be in the Playstations heart. It is just right for kids 7 and up so the ratings are good. I bought the game a long time ago, when it first came out. It is a good game and I enjoyed it. If you are looking for a game for the time being - and for fun - get this game, and if you are tired of games with killing get it.

Harvest Moon: BTW is unique and refreshing change of pace in any genre of video games. |
| NotYourAveragePsyco from Bloomfield, USA says (26/Dec/2000): |
If you like the strange and the unique, I could think of no better game for you than Harvest Moon. Granted, I've owned every single version of this series, and maybe I play until four in the morning, but if you have infinite patience, and enjoy the unique blend of RPG, Dating Sim, Simulation, ... yada yada, you'll find yourself doing the same thing. It's free from any thing offensive, it's cheerful, and it can easily (Abiet, for some it takes longer) be learned. There is no violence in the game, and I'm sure that it will appeal to parents and kids alike. But a few words of caution: The music is boring. Turn the volume down and blast a CD instead. And if you're using the Analog controller, don't give up when moving your guy with it seems to be really choppy, it's mostly because you're not used to it, it'll get better. (Use the O button to dash!)

COOL! |
| Gamer64 from Tulsa, OK says (27/Dec/2000): |
I think it's kind of complicated because you have so many places to go and so many people to see. The graphics are OK and there's A LOT going on I was totally lost at first and everyone is different from HM 64 (ex: im HM64 popuri is the florist's daughter and now shes in the chicken bizz) .The controls are different from harvest moon 64 but its the best if your fed up with killing games. Its definitely a really cool game and earns my praise 100%.

A RPG for Everyone |
| A gamer from Maryland, USA says (30/Dec/2000): |
This is a great RPG/Sim game not only for kids but for teens and adults too. Since the game isn't exactly linear, you can play till your thumbs fall off, and their would still be more left to play. Your basic goal is to earn money, get married, and befriend the townspeople, but it has quite a few mini goals to feed your entertainment needs.

A Rpg for everybody |
| Lauren from USA says (31/Dec/2000): |
Harvest Moon is one of my favorite games. I bought a playstation just to get this game (and a few other Rpgs I enjoy). The game is enjoyed by people of all ages. It has a deep sense of things and very addictive. I have spent hours on this game when it only feels like a few minutes. The character have different characteristics and attitudes like the busybody Karen, cool dude Kai, and popular-like Poupri, and so on. Farming is not the only think you do. You raise animals including your dog and horse, farm, woo a wife, make you house and other buildings of your farm even better and so much more. The music is even entertaining at times. I've found myself humming to the spring, summer, fall, and winter tunes at times. The festivals and mini games are a blast even if the graphics aren't the best. I think anybody would enjoy this game. Its one of the best...

Very Cool RPG/Sim game |
| A gamer from Honolulu, Hawaii, USA says (1/Jan/2001): |
When I first got this game it was amazing!! The story, the gameplay is great. I also own the N64 version and I still play both of them. Even though I restarted the game so many times it never gets boring for me. I really like the festivals and wooing the girl of your dreams. this game was and still is one of the greatest games ever created. If you have a playstation and want a fun game, get OFF your butt and go buy this game right away. you won't be disappointed.

It's all true |
| Eric from Sacramento says (1/Jan/2001): |
All the reviews you might have read, well their all true. I'm uasally a little spectical when buying a game I've never rented or played over at my friends house. But this game is worth it.
I personaly like the graphics that are in this game I mean their not resident evil quality but they get the job done
The background music in this game gets a little annoying after awhile. It starts playing tropical music during the fall. But this is not the game that is made for music
The gameplay is pretty sweet and the storyline is off da hook.
The controlls is very simple and easily to learn.
Overall I give this game a 8 in graphics (out of 10)
I give this game a 4 in sounds (out of 10)
I give this game a 10 in gameplay (out of 10)
the aggeravation level 0 (out of 10)

This one won't make you bored! |
| Ulung from Bandung, Indonesia says (2/Jan/2001): |
This game is pretty addictive and fun, when I bought this one, now I never think about buying another games! I play this game over and over because this game, even without any battle and some great battle system, I think is better than other RPG. And this game has its own different unique things that makes you never stop playing the game. And this one has good graphics, I like it. But this one has bad things like clock that moves too fast, and you will hear the music and sound again and again, it will make you bored. I don't like the sound when stepings too, and the same things, there is no variations on things like tree stumps, weeds, the graphic is same. But it's okay I believe you won't get bored with this one.

OUT STANDING, BEST RPG GAME EVER!! |
| Mace from Ca, USA says (12/Jan/2001): |
Harvest Moon: Back to Nature is the best RPG game ever. It is addicting and once you play it you won't want to do anything else. You will be breathing and eating Harvest Moon. The graphics are amazing they are 10 times better than Harvest Moon 64. This is a must play/get game. One of the best games you will ever play. If you buy it you would never regret it. During the game you can get drunk, have a party, get married, have kids, and much more. You must get this game.

now i know what your thinking... a farm sim? trust me. it rocks. |
| Rath Rodgers from nocturnal, addict says (18/Jan/2001): |
I am a giant fan of RPG and kill um all games. this game just rocks. from the moment i got this game i have been hooked. take the graphics, there not the best, but there far better than any "sim" type game i have played. There are so many different things you can do, id recommend it for anyone. sure the sound may not be the best but i always turn it down and turn the radio up. i have played it from beguinning to end sever times. i still play it. its like no other game out there. besides the origonal harvest moon and versions for other systems. this game has a good story, plenty of events and objectives, even has a few hidden things to seek out. this is by far one of the best games i own.

The best game in the world! |
| Brandon Jackson from Lawton,Oklahoma says (19/Jan/2001): |
I don't know how, but this game just hooked me to it after the 2nd of Spring in Year 1. If you've played the N64 version of the series, you're probably thinking "Oh, it's just the N64 version put on a Playstation disc." That's far from true. Harvest Moon: Back to Nature is 20 times better than the N64 version, so it's time to put that N64 controller down and pick up your PS control and get hooked more than ever. As you know, in the N64 version, you could collect recipies, yet couldn't do anything with them whatsoever except get rated for how many you get. BO-RING. But this time around, you can cook stuff! There's also more of a wide variety of vegetables to choose from, including many new ones. As in the previous game, you can expand your house and get a greenhouse (now called a hothouse) and also get married of course. This time around you can also hold up to 10 chickens and 20 cows and or sheep. Also you can use mayonnaise, cheese, and yarn makers to increase the profits of eggs, milk, and wool. There are also tons more features. You've got to see this game to believe it. You WILL buy this game.

A Different Kind Of RPG! |
| Ryan Johnson from Moreno Valley Ca, USA says (2/Feb/2001): |
This game is a great RPG. It is not your common "Save the Princess" RPG, but yet a farming RPG. How often do you get to milk cows(some of us don't want to)not often. When the company first made Harvest Moon for the Super NES, they were taking a chance. But when this farming game had an extreme effect on the people, they could not stop making more and more. Now, we have are latest, "Harvest Moon: Back to Nature". This one is a bit different. It can hold more cows, more sheep, more chickens, and even more fish(compared to 1) So if you have not played this game, I suggest you do.

Excellent! |
| Louvette from Manila, Philippines says (5/Feb/2001): |
Harvest Moon is a breath of fresh air from all those blood and gore, violent types of video games we commonly find. I can only imagine what real life farmers would think of us city folk doing farm chores on a game console and loving every addicting minute of it.

The Future of Rpg |
| Rob M from Canada says (17/Feb/2001): |
This game was great. I played the SNES version and thought it was amazing! then, I played BTN and couldn't stop...
I'm actually playing it right now... Can't stop...

A very good game! |
| Nicki from NJ, USA says (20/Feb/2001): |
This is a good game for the whole family. I like Harvest Moon because it's fun, it's got good graphics, and it's addictive. I've never seen another game like it before. The controls are real easy to use. It provides a fun challenge. You can compete in festivals and get married.

In Love With This Game |
| Dylan from California says (26/Feb/2001): |
This game is by far one of the most innovative and exciting genres to happen since resident evils survival horror. The game has great detail into the little things such as birds chirping and people going about on their own daily schedules. Although some of the music is repetitive it fits the game. The graphics are somewhat grainy at times but perfectly fits this kind of game. The little anime faces are detailed too. One of the best parts of this game is how you have no set path whatsoever. You are free to do what you want to do at any time. The festivals are fun and even more exciting this time around but i still find them to be a little too far apart and not as much interactivity that i had hoped for. I am a proud owner of Harvest Moon 64 and i loved it. I wasnt able to stop playing Back to nature the day i bought it. i played until 3 in the morning on school nights. I was amazed by the depth of the game. I did have some minor trouble with the control scheme of BTN since i was very used to the diagonal movement in the 64 version but i soon saw past that and was floored by a incerdible game that no RPG fan should miss.

Most addictive game in creation! |
| Joel Cameron from British Columbia Canada says (28/Feb/2001): |
This game is amazing in the fact that you have total freedom something few RPG's truely let you have. The aspects of the game are so briliant simply run a farm, live a life, no fighting killing monsters magic ect. This is soooo addictive once I got Harvest Moon 64 I played till four AM then beat that record by staying up till eight AM with back to nature. The graphics are perfect for this type of game. There is low-yet high detail...very hard to explain. The sound on the other hand can be alittle annoying but once again suits this type of game.It has got to be the funnest and most original game on earth a must buy for RPGers

Not Just For Little Kids! |
| Jali from Edmonton, Canada says (3/Mar/2001): |
Despite the cutsey story-line and even more cutsey graphics, Harvest Moon is a very addictive and fun game for all ages! I had originally started with the old SNES Harvest Moon, and maybe it's the mothering instinct in me (no wait! Don't run! I'm a girl, we can say things like that!) but the idea of raising a little farm full of animals and produce really appealed to me...ok, now I just sound slow! But understand, normally, a game like this wouldn't catch my eye, since I'm more of a die hard Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy fan, but HM:BTN is a fun alternative from the usual stream of shoot em ups and what not we're usually faced with. More than that.....it showed me I was really lucky to have been born a city girl, because I don't think I would've lasted in the country -.- Anyway, I would recommend this game to those of you looking for a interesting new change, and just plain old fun. A word of advice though: make sure you have ample time to play it in.....something about taking care of little cows and chickens makes you want to stay up until four a.m playing it! And also do yourself a favour and don't waste money by renting this game and another one at the same time. Trust me, I rented Final Fantasy 9 at the same time as I did this game, and FF just sat there by my VCR as I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning tending to my crops! (not knocking FF9, it's just I couldn't bring myself to hit the OFF button on my PSX to actually play it)!

The best game ever |

Excellent! |
| Mark (Ocellus) Roe from Las Vegas, (Nevada) USA says (16/Apr/2001): |
Not a RPG really but much more of a resource management simulation with a personal caring touch, a breath of fresh air. I love strategy and resource man. to my very core (I remember staying up night after night with the first Civilizations game) but this just blows away most serious sims, which is big surprise to me.
The graphics are very impressive. I own a PS2 on which I play this time leach and when I showed my friends the game for the first time they thought it was a low-grade PS2 game. You wouldn't believe thier surprise when I told them otherwise.
Like many of the other reviewers on this page I originally played the SNES version and loved it, so picking up this game was a no-brainer, particularly at $19.99. All the new features in this sequel , yes sequel, add up to a game with unlimited replayability. BRAVISIMO NATSUME! Pick up this game now!
