The best game i have ever played! | | Danni from Kent, England says (29/Aug/2003): | Harvest Moon: Back to Nature is the best game i have ever play. I am currently at the end of spring in the 4th year, I'm married to Popeuri and i have a son called Scot. I've found out some really awesome stuff as well! For example: If Barley takes away your horse you need to plant 40 patches of grass (50 if 40 doesn't work) and then Barley will come to your farm and give you a new pony! Also i found out a really cool cheat but i havn't tried it out yet. You can have two dogs! All you gotta do is buy some potatoe seeds and plant them, then you need to place you dog in the middle of the seeds and then run into your house and go to sleep. Then when you wake up you will have two dogs. You can sell one or keep it.(This cheat will only work as long as your dog is still a puppy and it can't move from the potatoe patch!) Also my friend got onto the tenth year and she told me that if you go to your bridge at the end of your farm and leave your guy there until he lies down the bridge breaks and then Gotz comes to fix it for free and if you talk to him he askes for your help and he pays you to help him fix he bridge! I got reccommened this game by my friend and at first it sounded really really bad but then i started playing it i just got so addicted! I've played it for 5 days solid with no sleep and no interuptions until now. I've finally eaten slept and i only just managed to pull my self away to write this review! I hope you get as much a thrill as playing this game as i do and for anyone who has been puzzled about this for a long time making butter is sooooo easy! All you need is some milk from your cow and a blender then go to your kitchen and cook it. Dead simple. The last cheat i'm going to tell you is that to win the cooking festival don't talk to anyone apart from the major and only tell him your entering. Don't talk to anyone else! | Harvest moon fan | | Allison from Canada says (25/Jun/2004): | This game is Awesome i love it, ive been playing it for about a month and im married to ann, i dont have a baby yet, but she likes spa-boiled eggs alot, just put it in the spa and it will turn a brown colour. I dont understand how some people dont like this game because its a fun game to play when ur bored, and also for the people that dont like it to keep it to themsleves because some people dont like it when u critizise the game so ya, well that all i really have to say, and popuri actually likes weeds so u can keep on doing it and she says thank-you so if ur going after her just give her weeds everyday and other stuff 2. And on the 10th year u go on that big bridge and u fall threw then ur wife and kids find u and u end up in the hospital and then gotz asks u to help him rebuild it and i think u get umm i cant remeber but u get alot of money for helpng him out. i havnt got that far but i hope this has helped u a little bit and im hoping for everyone else to help me on some things, i also heard if u give curry to ur wife on the night of ur marriage u can get twins im not totally sure but ya ok welli hope its helped a little.

I got it on it's release day and couldn't stop playing it. I'm now on my 7th year with Ann and a child, that is growing up very rapidly and my farm is prospering very well. This game is by far the best Harvest Moon...so far. It has it's setbacks, like having to keep your horse healthy for a year or it's taken away. You have to chop a butt load of wood to upgrade you house/henhouse/barn. But if you have any questions about the game, feel free to e-mail me at anytime. If you have a question about having a chil, getting power berries, secret fish, minerals to find (like Orichalcum, i'll tell you when you email me) the easiest way to make your baby happy ^_^! I know a whole lotta recipes to tickle anyones fancy. Did I just say "tickle" and "fancy"in the same sentence? Ever wonder why Cliff leaves after year 1??? I know why, but you gots ta emails me for it.

Your grandfather was very busy man ,however he was happy to have your with him .Thought the town was small ,there was something new and exciting to do everyday .So your grandfather give you his ranch to you .In this game you can enjoy hours and hours of non-linear game play as you interact with over 40 unique characters .You also can collected 100 different of recipes cook .You also can create your own dishes to “woo” the women in this town .It have four season in this game .It is spring ,summer ,fall ,and winter .It have many different type vegetables seed you buy it .In this game have many ton of mini games ,such as chicken sumo ,annual town tomato fight ,dog race ,horse race ,and many .The characters move in real-time. You also can be friend to harvest sprites .After you be friend to harvest sprites ,you can ask him to help out around your ranch .In this game you can married women in this small town .You always give things to who you like and one day you can married him.
| A Really Different Kind of RPG | | Kensai Hidimiya from Kobe, Japan says (5/Jan/2004): | Harvest Moon BTN is really quite addicting. The game is simple to learn and is really fun. I've played this game for a looong time (I'm in year 18!) and I still play it for at least 2 hours a day.
The good thing about it is you actually need to think and not just sit there and let the game play for you. You have to earn money, need to spend it wisely, need to interact with people (in the good way or else they'll kick you out), you have to be good to your animals (they actually produce more stuff when they love you) and you actually eat, get tired, get sick and work hard (for the none cheating ones).
One thing I can say is you're bound to get addicted, especially when preparing for festivals. The programmers have done a great job because the game is really fabulous because there's no game like it!
You'll find things like throwing your dog in the Harvest Festival (not advisable!) hilarious! I'm a girl and I still find it really cute to court girls like Elli, Karen and Mary. The game might still be short of updated interactive things but its really really good!
If you're anything like me, you'll love this game and make sure the Harvest Moon games for PS2 and GBC and GBA. Down with GameCube and XBox! XP!

I'm in the 4th year now,I married Ann and I have a son (able to crawl),Ann won't marry me for some time cause my house is not extended (maybe because there is no bed for her to sleep) but once i extented my house...she married me! And you know what I give her every day in the mornings? Ans: hardboiled eggs...I just have to carry all my eggs in my large racksack and throw them into the "pond" (forget what it is called) and give her all of the eggs...she seems to like the eggs alot. I have quite alot of recipes too, I even won the cooking contest! I like those festivals and special events in this game...oh! and I remembered asking the "dawf-like creatures" (sorry about that,I have forgotten some names) to help me water plants,look after animals,harvest crops,etc...they are really helpful! but you have to give them something in return because the hearts will decrease...by giving them things,the hearts may increase. My dog, also have puppies! with hana,the dog at the sheep/cow farm. The puppies are sooooooooo cute! and sometime I will carry some small animals back to the farm but they disappear after a short period of time. Of the 4 seasons,i like autumn most as there will be soooooo many stuffs to gather up in the woods. (mushrooms,flowers,etc) So in autumns, I will become very rich...opps, I think I typed too much,I will end here. Remember...harvest moon ROCKS!

Cause the day i started playing harvest moon i've never plaed anything else except harvest moon!! I mean when I go home after school. my sisiters will see me infront of the tv. My parents even got mad because they saw me playing about 4 o'clock in the morning. cause I usualy started playing at 5 to 7 and 9 to 5am.
I wish they will make another version of harvest moon. you know. larger map,more chicken, cow,and sheep to take care more girls to make friends. and also more CROPS and type of ORE. But i hope they'll make it on PLAYSTATION1. Hope, If Iwould have a kid I could introduce this game to him.CAUSE Iwas realy facinate the first time I played it. I never felt bored even once.there are alot of events happening. and also if the events isn't enough the way you will meet the girls are so cool.If I could RATE this game 11 I WOULD. You know just incase its actually not some stupid chick flick of a game, fair enough. I pop it into my Playstation play abit and think, "This is ok. Nothing I would buy or anything." How nieve I was...
After you start actually playing this game the incredable simplisity grabs you. A scheduel becomes set in the virtual days, you get into the groove of things and while nothing major is happening for some reason the little things start to matter. You will manage your time between the basic four things in this game: working the fields, taking care of your animals, gathering nateral resources, and socializing with the villagers. Although it may not seem all that complex, but like Tetris you get quickly addicted. After days turn into monthes and monthes turn into years you really begin to feel for the town. You get to know the people, learn there stories and maybe even get married and start a family. And for whatever reason you keep coming back for more, one more day becomes a basic phrase in your vocabulary when your family is pestering you into going to that dreaded non-farm related job.
The game is well made, and wll some may not see the simple beauty in it, I found myself spending hours and days of my time living out life on my farm. For someone who is looking for a little something different I tip my hat in Harvest Moon's favour.
| this game is good | | A gamer from NJ, USA says (15/Jan/2004): | this game was stupid at first cuz i didnt no how to play at all, i tried throwing in everything and i finally got in the blue plant and greenish yellow one, i spent all the gold so that was my only option. i messed up a couple of times. i finally beat the 3 years and been excepted into the town, and from what i heard its never ending with events ever year. this games will go on forever till u stop playing. this maybe for those who like games those are like the sims. i personally loved this game cuz it was the same as real life. the best part is really the games like the tamato throwing. this game i got from a relative and thought it was fruity at first and now i am like playing every single day non stop, even to eat. this game was so real i tried some things in this game in real life and i guess giving things to people does increase relations. this game was great but except for the glitches, the dog ball was always being lost in the house. the amount of gold i lost on a festival was lots but other then that the game's speed and realistics were good and if there are any other games i would get it. but there's a problem since i don't have a lot of money.

And the way you get to marrie people is cool but the only thing i don't like about this game is that you can't choose to be a boy or a girl but if you could the game would be perfect! And on winter 26 on the 4th year if you fall asleep on the brige nere your chicken coop it will break and your wife(if you have one) and child(again if you have one) will come out and then grots will come by and ask you to help him fix it and he will pay you! And an easy way for your kid to like you more is to give him some milk every day and take the dog to him and let him talk to him and soon his hearts will rise. And if your good friends with rick some day he'll come bye and ask you to take care of five chickens and he brings the food that they will need for as long as you keep them and he lets you keep all the eggs they lay!

When they're blooming she comes to you again and tell you she's happy. Give flowers to her later and her love meter go up by one point. About Mary? She's easy to marry. She likes mushrooms, poison mushrooms, all grasses, flowers... When you have Mary with blue heart she will comes to your farm and give you a book. Read it and go to library. Then she's tell you some informations about it. Answer "I like woodcutter". Some informations about Ann? OK. She likes milk, eggs, spa-boiled eggs and another food. If you have Ann with blue heart she will comes to you farm. She wants 3 fresh eggs every day. Say "yes". Now it's time for my favourite Elli! She loves flowers. When you have Elli with blue heart she will comes to you farm at noon with a sandwich. It's not very good so she's unhappy. Next day she comes too. Her sandwich is better, but... I do admit the controls are confusing for a while but you get used to them after a while. I think the best feature is actually using recipies to cook. All in all, Back to nature is a good game.

A game doesn't have to have violence to be good or entertaining. And to the people who think that Harvest Moon is sexist cause they only let you play as a boy, well, they haven't played Harvest Moon: For a Girl.(In which you, as a girl, can marry Kai, Cliff, Gray, etc.) This is a good game and has a portable version for GBA.(Friends of Mineral Town) This type of game doesn't come along often, but is worth it. The graphics aren't that great, but the story line more than makes up for it and the Harvest Moons can be played for year after year. The game is suited for all ages and sexes. I fell in love with it and showed it to my girl friend and she fell for it too. It is the best and the one and only for all true gamers. The music is soothing, the people are charming and the plot is fantastic. Believe you me, you will love this game and will love it for years to come.

Basically, Harvest Moon is where you play the role of a guy (or a girl, as it is one version of the game) and live on a farm. You always have to raise this farm in some way by buying livestock (cows, sheep, chickens, etc.), planting, growing, and selling your crops, upgrading your house, getting married, and having kids (or, in this case, one kid). The only one I know where it isnt like this is Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland, but were not talking about that game.
What makes this game so exciting you ask? Well, not only do you get to think about 20 different names for yours cows and sheep, you can also attend festivals, cook, fish, and make your guy pass out several times ^_^ Its hard at first (seeing as how you have little money, no animals, and a yard full of weeds, rocks, and twigs) but it gets very addicting once you gain a lot of money. Heres a hint to help you gain money: in Spring, buy only potatoes ^_~
And what could be more thrilling than competing with another guy for your girl? Okay, so you dont get to punch his lights out, but you do get to woo the girl away from him. And, best of all, you can keep playing after the appointed 3 years.......that is, if you feel like it o.O
The only problem I see with this game is that, your baby will stay the same infant he is for about only.......FOREVER!
T_T Good thing you dont buy diapers for that kid.
