1, and it was a little to easy. but this game is challenging!
Playing as Agent 9 IS TO COOL! Even when I played part of
Spyro 2, it just didn't seem as cool. Out of all the gameplay
the level "midnight mountain" is the coolest! I've completed
86% of the game, but i cannot get 149 eggs! thats my only problem. I play this game nearly every day, and still can't beat it. the game's skateboard tricks are the best things i like to do. like the Gnasty Gnork, is to cool! and i've never gotton higher than my latest score, which was 34,287 points.
but the hunter bonus games are to awesome! like shooting the sheep invaders. I know lots of game cheats, but they never help me. this game might seem hard for me, but i still can't stop playing it!
| Represent! | | A gamer from Little Elm, TX says (7/Apr/2006): | Alright, I'm normally an RPG/Survival Horror gamer, but I used to be all about these platformer games. I would start with Croc, and then Crash Bandicoot, and eventually found my way into this beloved series. I've been a fan ever since...well...until the PS2 one came out. Anyways, this is the best Spyro game ever made. The graphics are vivid and colorful for the PS1, which is great considering its a kid's game. I caught myself laughing at certain intervals, which is something I don't often do "unless you count Donald Duck saying Sephiroth in KHII". The challenges...are...well...challenging at best. They can really keep you on your toes, and each level is unique in its own fashion. If you love a good platformer or just want a nice, productive way to waste your time then I would suggest trying this out.

I mean, I've only played Spyro 2, Spyro 3 and halfway through Spyro 4 and 2 is the best. You can change his colour and everything. It ROX!!!!!!! The skateboard trix r totally mad and being able to b other characters is awesome! It is a good length, not 2 short or not 2 long. My most favouritest level is the Seashell Shore one. Them seals r so cute. There is absolutely nothing no one can h8 about THIS Spyro game! It is the best Spyro game yet. I luv it! My favourite other character is Sheila the kangaroo, she is soooooooooo mad!!! No other Spyro game I think is better. It doesn't get hotter than this!!!!!

The graphics were ok, and the music was good but got really annoying while you were trying to do something difficult. The gameplay was fun the first or second time you beat it but after that, it get's repeatative. One thing I really liked was killing the sheep, bunnies, swimming chickens, and other random creatures. Overall, this is a game I would suggest if you are bored, a pyro, or you want to dirty deeds with innocent sheep and other little animals.

It is so awesome, I have been playing it for about four years now and its still as awesome as ever, if was my first play station game I ever played and I have completed it 117% 3 times, it is so out of this world awesome and so addicting that I had to time my best score. 117%, no cheats at all in less then 3 hours. This truly, TRULY is awesome and is the best game ever imagined/invented. I very VERY highly recomend it! Good Job Insomniac!

I liked the sound too, like the music, it was really cool!! And the gameplay was kool, it was challenging, easy and a really great game all together!! And it was really fun!!! And original! My favourite level in year of the dragon is the second skate boarding park (in enchanted towres. go there its wicked!). it is soooooooooo cool because you can do these cool moves like raging ripto and gnasty gnorc. I LOVE U SPYRO!!!!!! This is the best game ever made in history so i reccomend to the whole world to buy it! if you dont get it then youll regret it!

| it is so addictive! | | vikki from devon, england says (6/Nov/2004): | i have done 95% of it and i am lovin it soooo much i don't wanna complete it! i completed the second spyro and it took me about a year, but this one has taken me a week so far. it is so addictive, i have to play it for about an hour evey day! i found out a quick and easy way of getting 99 lives, which is usefull. i have liked playing spyro since i was seven years old, and loved it since! i have got all my m8s into it now, and even my little brother loves it.
| "Spyro: Year of the Dragon" is an all-around great game! | | Laura Nelson from Hunington Beach, California says (3/Sep/2004): | "Spyro: Year of the Dragon" is a great game with a good plot, funny characters, and terrific graphics. Some of my favorite aspects of this game were the underwater/swimming graphics, the little goodies you get after defeating Sparx levels, and getting to see Hunter again! This game has little short movie things to tell you what goes on when characters meet, such as when Spyro first meets Bianca. The game has no bad language, and the characters have complex, seemingly real personalities. The game's only fault, in my opinion, is that the characters hands/feet often seem to be half submerged in the ground when they walk, move, jump, or charge.
Another great part of the game is that you get to play not only Spryo, but other characters, even Sparx! The game has it's challenges and easy things, which make the game fun to play all day long.

Anyway,I LOOOOOOOOVE this game. just when you think Spyro cant get any better, it does. How does Insomniac do it? How can they pack the most actionpacked game I have ever played on one small black disk? I thought it was pretty tough(it took me ages to beat the first boss, Buzz) but it made the game all the better. The graphics dwarf the last two games, the levels are so intricatly created you can get overwhelmed by there size and skateboarding, boxing, speedboating, submarining, swimming, skating, supercharging, flying(Sgt.Byrd), hopping(Shiela), whacking(Bently), blasting and bombing(Agent9) and spraying rockets, fire, bombs and bullets(Sparx)is just bloody brilliant. I have finally beaten the entire game, have 118% completion, defeated the sorceress twice(!), seen Bianca and Hunter kiss, yuck!, entered and finished the super bonus worlds, have all 128 dragon eggs, have found the last dragon egg(which happens to be ying-yang, who are twins) found all the skill points, opened all the levels and challenges, beaten the snowboard six and their time record by one second and seen all of the chracters epilouge! Phewww!
Graphics fantastic, sound excellent, crammed with gameplay, incredible chracters and bosses, brilliant levels, top challenges, perfect balance between easy and difficult, cracking mini-games and wicked vehicles.(My favorite is the mini-spaceship) The makings of a pure and perfect, allround solid, flipping brilliant platform game. Insomniac have created a game which all other games should be based. Spyro is the king of platformers, bar none!

You EVEN get to play as Sparx the Dragonfly! But, i have a big bug for you, in Agent 9s lab, when i got the egg with the hint "Snipe the boats" the first time i did it, it said "You already have this egg: Tony" Huh?? My favourite level is Sgt. Byrds Base. Also, i can get 3 skill pionts! Levels: Molten Crater, Bentleys Outpost and Haunted Tomb. Another bug, its hard to make Sgt. Byrd fly. Its hard to find Hunter in Country Speedway.

The scateboard park is wicked! I's also my favorite part of Spyro 3: Year of the dragon! It's probably Spy's best ever! Insominac must be thrilled! Every other game in the world is like an teeny, tiny, itty, bitty speck of dust compaired to this almighty leader. You get to play as different people. Those are Spyro the Dragon, Sheila the Kangaroo, Sgt Byrd the Penguin, Bently the Yeti and Agent 9 the Monkey. There's Hunter and Moneybags. Also, Bianca comes to the good side. The bosses you face are Buzz, Spike, Scorch and the Sorceress. I like it, but THE question is, will you?
| Spyro Rocks!This Game is so AWSOME! | | Valerie from Elkhart IN USA says (12/May/2004): | I love all the Spyro games, but so far,I think this one is the best!This game is so fun I couldn't miss it if I tride to!I stay up all night on week ends just playing this game!Its got free 3D roming animations,skatebording,challenge portals,thirty-six different realms,and six sweet critters to play as!That's why I think it rocks!I've not met anyone who dosen't like it!Spyro is really mighty for somethins so little!I've beaten it and restarted it at least twenty-seven times!No matter what new games I get, Spyro:Year of the Dragon will always be one of my favorites!And I useually have my cusins come over and play it with me after church on sundays.They're Spyro fans too.It's amazing how mutch fun you can have by playing Spyro!On a scale from one to ten,I give Spyro:Year of the Dragon an eleven!once I rented Spyro with my friend,right a way we knew we'de love it!And now I have all three Spyro games!I've gotten a lot of my friends into liking Spyro video games too.And I've never played a better video game than Spyro:Year of the Dragon!I hope they make more Spyro games like Spyro:Year of the Dragon!

At first some of the challenges were hard but once you get in sync its not impossible. All the different characters make it diverse so the game dosen't get too get boring. I can't wait till I buy the fourth and fifth , well when the fifth comes out. I recommend buying the game, but if you dont like these types of games, don't their not right for everyone. But I certainly loved it.
| The Best Spyro game ever!!!!! | | Danielle Liddiard from Staines,England says (2/Jan/2004): | Spyro 3 is one of the best games on PS1 and the best in the Spyro series!!Spyro 3 is set over 4 different worlds which together contain over 30 colourful and beautiful levels.The graphics in Spyro 3 are the best PS1 graphics can get.The sound are so virtual that it feels like you are there.Every level is packed with action and adventure taking Spyro to the next level.The game is longer than the first two put together and is three times harder.The best thing about this game is that now you can play up to 5 different characters including Sparx the dragonfly,Sheila the kangaroo,Sargent Bird the only flying penguin,Bently the snow monster and Agent 9 the space monkey.There are also tons of mini-games,challenges and Spyro even goes Tony Hawks style and goes skatboarding mad.Spyro 3 is the best platform/adventure game on PS1 that no other game can come close too.It's a challenging and fun game for all ages that no one can dislike.
