Good sequel but some have there doubts |

I thought that Driver 2 was a good sequel, but some people have their doubts. The levels are better but they look the same as the original. Being able to get out of a car is really cool but you really cant do anything but get into another car. If they made it were you could pick up a gun and shoot people, then it would be a lot better. Also I know some people who would like to go cruising around and even hit people, but I have never hit a person and would like to. One good thing is that the missions are really hard, which blows out the original for me cause in Driver 1, the missions were way to easy and got bored of the game very easily. The cars in this game arent that great. Like the Fire engine. They should of had it were you could us the hose or something. Well, that is all I have to say about this total let down.

I currently have rented this game from Blockbuster. In two days I am already on disk 2. I am tired of hearing about people complaining about the difficulty of this game. If you guys are complaining about the Havana 4 car mission, just wait until you have to rescue a car from the train tracks or have to do another wreck job with an escort tailing you(this time it is an ambulance with a cop car). Put some effort into it b4 you whine about this or that. The drawbacks I have found are the way the driver walks. He must go forward at all times, because if you try to go backward you are screwed. Another drawback is watching those damn replays before restarting the mission. What's up with that? All in all the game is the same as the first basically. Pretty easy with new features.

This game is just as fun as the original, I will agree it could have been polished a little more before release. None of the missions have been so hard I have got frustrated. If you are a hardcore gamer you will enjoy this one.

A lot of people are saying; "Driver I was better because of.... and ...." but i think Driver I was better in some respects, yet Driver II is better in others. I mean getting out of your car and stealing other ones - nice touch. But i dont think people just leap out of their cars as soon as someone opens the door! It would probably at least take a knife or a gun to get them out, and what can we do when where not in a car what can you do? - Run around, run around, oh! and run around! If you could get guns or maybe go in apartment buildings etc. In Driver II you are offered a choice of cars which is great but come on not everyone in the city drives one of four cars. And dont get me started on those trucks in Havana with the rocket boosters or whatever they have that allows them to out-run Beasty 60's cars.
I also find that my copy of Driver II jerks a lot and runs really slow at times - it has even stoped once! Which can be a bugger when you are right at the end of a mission, I know it is hard to get things running completely smoothly on the old PSX One but i think the jerkiness can be some what reduced! Anyway stealing cars is cool and the missions arent to hard if you cant do them then just keep playing until you are good enough. I find that Driver II is more Exciting and has more depth than the first. I know its easy for us to sit here and say "I Want That..... I Want This!" But hey Driver II is a great game and has had me playing it quite a lot lately but there is room for improvement - So I Say keep up the good work! and if theres a Driver III it should be a cracker!

This game is the best game I have played in a long time. I was also a Driver fan but when I heard that Driver2 was coming out I could not wait to get it. The game play and graphics are better than the original Driver. The game is not one of those impossible to beat types. I myself beat it in two days. I would recommend this game to any body that likes a thrilling on-the-edge-of-your-seat kind of game.

Driver two is one of them good games that you don't want to play because you can't stand looking at it for long. The graphics are a big let down which destroy the promising gameplay. It is easy to complete but the mission are well thought out. The sound is not that good either as crashes sound like a school bell and the engines sound like a portable fan. Buildings appear right in front of you and the game has a big slow down factor. Don't get me wrong Driver 2 is a good game underneath but i'm sure all the let downs would leave Starsky and Hutch turning in their graves.

I was totally impressed with Driver 2, I just got it for Christmas and once I turned it on I was in love with the graphics, the story line, the cars, EVERYTHING!! My whole family also enjoys the game and sometimes I have to bargain with my dad just so I can play!!
Anyways, on to the game, when I first played I noticed the improvements in the buildings, the way the cars react and many other things, unlike in Driver 1 when you honk at a car the car reacts by moving over or stoping instead of ramming into you like in the first game. Also, the stories in between the game are awesome and you get a better "feel" of the game unlike in Driver 1 where you could only see Tanner from a far. Another thing, the cities are a lot bigger and you can driver farther around the cities.
In all, I hope that there is a sequel to the whole Driver series and if there is I can't wait!!

I liked the fact that you could get out of your car and steal others. I hated 2 player mode (can't change your view) but it was good that they had it. Graphics were ok but not the best. They game actually freezes on me sometimes. It is a fun game to play. It is one of my favorites to you hosers that don't think so.

Driver 2 is a pretty fun game. I loved the original Driver and was thrilled when I heard 2 would let you steal other cars. But when I purchased the game, It was a disapointment at first. The graphics had not improved one bit during gameplay, but the scenes shown between missions seemed to revolutionize the Playstation graphic industry! So this sort of balanced out, but I still believe the developers should have paid a little more attention to the driving sessions themselves rather than the movie clips. All in all, not bad, but it could use quite a bit of work. Idea and concept is superb, but lazy PSX programmers should go into web design instead. I give it a 4. Below average disappointment. (Note: Views expressed here about lazy PSX programmers are not the views of StationPlay :) - Editor)

Driver one was a very cool game, so when i saw a demo for Driver 2 I was ecstatic (You can steal cars, COOL!). Then when I Played it I saw a lot of flaws. First, If you are going to make a game two player at all, you should at least make it decent. Yeah, you can play some decent modes but there are absolutely no options at all. No other cars, No alternate views, nothing that will make it very interesting. As for the game itself, it freezes quite often, the graphics are terrible (Except for the Video Clips, Which ROCK by the way), the cities themselves have quite a few glitches in them, like falling through the road and into oblivion, buildings that appear out of nowhere ect. However, the bridges (Way Cool), secret areas, alleys and all the stuff that you can run over are VERY COOL.
I LOVE the car stealing idea. (It's things like that that make a game cool, entreas in a manner of speaking.) Trust me the more you can do stuff like that, the better the game, and the more people who will buy it. you see if you make good games you will EASILY make good money. (make it a multiple disk set or something) Anyway, all in all this game rates a five in my book.

When I had Driver 1 I loved it so much because it was the perfect plot. A getaway driver. It was just like a movie. When I heard Driver 2 was coming out and it would have more levels, 2 players, and new cities I wanted it so badly. I got it the day it came out, I played it and I looked at the graphics and yelled to my mom "are you sure this is driver 2. She said yes. Then when I played the actual part of the game I thought the storyline was so great. And I figured out that you could get out of your car and steal someone else's. But it kept on freezing up when I started it. You couldn't see a building until you were a couple of feet away and the cops jumped out of nowhere. So the conclusion is that if the people had taken more time on the graphics it would be better. I know they did it though to get it on the shelves for Christmas but to tell you the truth it's not as good as Driver 1.

I purchased driver 1 the day it came out on psx, i went home and played it and i was so glad that this type of game had been made, you could drive any where you liked fast, slow, crazy what ever, but i still think that the graphics are very poor for driver on the psx. Then about 4 weeks ago i finaly got round to buying Driver 2, and it was such an improvement. I think the graphics are 10 times better, game play has improved 10 fold fmv's every thing. I was a little put off about buying Driver 2 because Driver 1 was poor graphics and i wanted to wait for it to come out on pc, but i finally couldnt wait any longer and got it. And im so glad i did everthing is better to the sound track to the stupid hub caps that come flying off! also Driver 2 has a splash of gta in and that makes it brillent. i give this game 10/10 just because of its improvement!

A game with proper graphics, stable roads, smooth gameplay, killing people, a proper selection of cars: this is what i expected, they let us down. Why make a driver 3, when Driver 1 was the best.

I DIDN'T THINK THIS WAS GOING TO BE A VERY GOOD GAME BUT WHEN I RENTED IT FROM BLOCKBUSTER I SAW THAT IT WAS BRILL. THE BEST BIT ABOUT THE GAME IS THAT YOU CAN RAM ANY CAR YOU WAN'T(UNLESS THERE ARE POLICE THERE IN WHICH CASE YOU'LL GET CHASED)BUT I CAN'T WORK OUT HOW TO GET TO LAS VEGAS OR RIO. CAN SOME ONE HELP ME?

When I first bought Driver I loved it. I couldn't wait till the sequel came out, and when it did, I loved that one even more! Driver 2 allows you to pick your car, and also has a new mulitplayer section. You even get to go international. Havana, and Rio! Driver 2 also allows you to get out of your car and steal another car. Kinda like what Grand Theft Auto did. But no weapons =( Driver 2 has better graphics then the first one. This game is a must for all Driver fans. I would reccommend this game to anyone. Play it, and there you'll have fun! Driver 2 is a great game!

I bought Driver 2 almost a year ago and I'm still trying to beat it. I like the take a ride part. It's especially fun in Las Vegas when you unlock it. It takes less strategy than the first. You can get out of your car in 2 unlike 1. So you can just ram into anything you want and then steal another one. I can play this game for hours straight. It does have glitches though. Like in Las Vegas if you touch a train it say's that you've drowned. And sometimes you fall through some intersections.

I loved the game better then the first one. The are some rumers going around, about police pulling over, not in this game, they slam you into everything. After finishing the game, you then have acess to all cars. There are hidden cheats one in Las Vegas,and Rio.There is secret cars to one in Chicago, Rio, Las Vegas,and Havana. There also are secret race tracks both in Rio.The game is very Good to play.The game has exellent story line. I rated this game a 10. I love this game because you can ram police cars or run red lights, if you have the cheats, immunity and invincibility. You cas buy a strategy book at WalMart. I just wish there was a turn signal on the vehicles. After I beat the game the final movie played, atthe end it said; Tanner, and Jones will return in the summer of 2002.

One of the best games i ever played!!!there are some disadvantageous like the screen freezes sometimes,and something wierd happend yesterday,i stole a police car and i pressd triangle + twice up,and the car became a viper,it was really cool but when i tried it again it didn't worked!it's a great game!!for those who do not have driver 2...GO GET IT!!
