I never thought of a game disc would accompanied musical instrument as the game goes on. Once I tried Rhapsody, I hoped that all games would be like this. Colorful graphics and beautiful artworks!!
I really admire to anybody who works with the illustrations. The drawings are very wonderful!!! I even draw them in my drawing book and sent them to friends. I'm mad at beautiful artworks or should I specified, the drawings and sketchings. That's why I'm very happy to have a Rhapsody game disc. Actually, I don't like music especially those music that are played in radio. Once the radio is ON, I usually think of making it SHUT UP!! But I can't since many of this house likes those music. BUT, when I heard the RHAPSODY music, I started to like music then. It's really WONDERFUL!!! To whoever is "SONOKO SAITO", I really admire your lyrics. Very meaningful!! And specially to JOSH SYNARD and SARA THOMAS, both of you had a very wonderful voice, so as the one who sang as CHERIE in the game, you have a very cold and great voice!! I even brought my classmates in my home just to hear your voice and to hear the wonderful music of the RHAPSODY. All of them like it and they even asked me for a copy of those lyrics. Then they tried to sing the music perfectly. Truly, I almost memorized all those music in Rhapsody and I usually sing those all the time. Maybe this is my first time to admire a music because I really hate hearing music from radio. I have a "keyboard or organ" in here and I always take time practicing and making my own keys/notes to play Rhapsody music. I have once tried to find music keys/notes in your website but it seems you didn't put any, so I made the keys of my own. Then, I tried to find Rhapsody record music in your website so that I can tell my pen pals to go to your website and hear the Rhapsody music, but sad to know that you didn't put those music in there. I hope you will put those music in your website someday and if you do, please tell me or email me in my ad. PLEASE! I would be very thankful!! Also, I wish you would put a keyboard keys/notes (of all those Rhapsody music) in your website so that I will copy them and practice to play them. Please inform me if you do. In addition, I really like the Japanese musical translations. I'm a Japanese blooded and I love hearing those music in Japanese translations. The voice of ETOILE, CORNET, CHERIE, PRINCE, MAJOLY and so on ARE AMAZING!! ((by the way, how should I read this>>ETOILE<<-e-twa-le///e-twa///e-toi-le///???)))) This is my first time to sign up in a REVIEW even though I have many favorite game disc but I love more this Rhapsody because it's different!! I hope my wish and wants would be granted. hehe. Can I ask: Are you going to make a PART 2 of this game? If you do, please add some more wonderful music! and drawings too! hehehe. ((Sad to say, I didn't find all the illustrations in the game even I played it many times. I guess there are four illustrations left))). This game is very easy to play. I didn't find it hard. I don't even have to use the inotiums because I can defeat the enemies easily. >>> I don't have a tape recorder at home, so I borrowed a cassette from a teacher and bought my own tape so that I could record your beautiful music. Both the Japanese and English versions. Mission accomplish already!! I hope you'll make more adventure games accompanied with music. I'm an adventure fan!! Almost all of my game disc are adventures! | This game had me confused but I loved it!! | | Isabel H. from Philippines says (27/Jul/2005): | At first, I played it when I was 9 years old.(hey I'm not yet that old)But I had a difficult time looking what to do next after the prince was kidnapped! Anyway, to find Tell(kid's brother)go to WonderWoods and look for him inside the caves. To find Duke, look for him in the WisdomTower. To find Chiba, look for him inside the Tower of NineTails. To find Albatross, just look for him in the Temple of Gama. To find Billy(Tell and Kid's older brother), go to the town of WhiteSnow and go to the snowman thingy and talk to it. To get Flare, go to the volcano in the Salsa Volcano and when the Volcano errupts, you'll take it eventually. To find Terra, look for her in the Cat's Eye Mine/Cave.To get Ledgem, all you need to do is to press X near the floating bunny like thing and Polansky will just explain to you who Ledgem is then go to wonderwoods and go to that place near the Cave and talk to Ledgem.And as for Caroline and Micheal, go to the Ice Temple/Cave and at the first intersection, go up, at the next go right and for the next few intersections, just go right;soon you'll see a tomb stone which says "here lies caroline and micheal's body and the two of them will appear as normal frogs.To get Dark Knight, you should have the water stone and that you are a member of the fan club for the prince and then check youre mailbox...you'll see DarkKnight.And in the wormtrain, you can use either Cornet,Sharte or Terra.(What I did was, I charmed the frogs using Terra, then the frog I charmed was attacking the heart while Sharte was attacking the other frogs and at the sixth turn I used Sharte to kill the heart!)And for the quests, in Flare's: Flare can be at any level for this. Go back to the place where you found Flare. Before getting to his nest you'll have to fight then when you get inside...You'll see Flare's parents as souls. Flare's soul will leave the puppet and his soul shall rest with his parents. If you were able to experience this scene the best thing to say is that it it so touching! I had the feeling to cry but wasn't able to...it's just too touching.For Sharte and Terra's quest: Use them until their level 30 or above. When Their both at the needed level, they will thank Cornet and they will tell you that they will be reincarnated as humans and that they will never forget your kindness to them even though they are reincarnated. It's also a touching scene...For Caroline and Micheal, simply train them until level 30, when their both at level 30 or above, they will thank you and will say things like what sharte and terra will say in their quest ending.(Caroline is reincarnated as a human! Sadly, Micheal is still a frog) I know many other quests but I'm just telling you the quests that touched me, my heart I mean. It's so touching I can just cry but I can't.
| Most Romantic Game Ever!!!!!!!!!! | | mella from Cavite, Philippines says (31/Jul/2003): | This game is really great, not only the characters in here is so cute, but it has a most beautiful song I've ever heard. This game is sooooooooooooo romantic, because of Cornet is trying to save his prince from the most ugliest, good for nothing old woman, wierd old witch Marjoly(She's the only the most ugliest, but not Crowdia, Myao and Gao, for me they're cute too.) The mostly song I liked in this game is Thank You, Courage, Let's Go On(all of it from Cornet, Etoile and Cherry), Amphibian Paradise(Micheal's voice is really good to hear), It's Our World, that's all. I've recorded it already, so I can repeatedly hear thos songs again and again. I've already have a copy of songs from English Version and Japanese Version, but mostly I keep singing it in Japanese.
There are so many cute character in this game, like L-kun, Koro, Flare, Sharte and Terra, Kururu, the three egg brothers, Billy, Tell and Kid, and so the other monsters, like dinosaur, citric, werewolf like, and the others.
This game has a ORIGINALITY, because of this game or Cornet is using is the only one (I think) who uses horn that her mother gave to her, to fight the monsters and this is one of the game that has a full of songs to hear and to sing. It also has an original attacks for Cornet.
Its lifespan, for me only, I think its more higher than 5.
The sounds of this game is great to. From every villages or town on this game has a diff. sounds to hear (except in the cave or inside of the volcano or in every tower).
Its fun factor is the greatiest. You'll never stop playing this game (except when you got bord), and you gonna repeat to play this game all over and over and over again. This game is so CRAZY to hate.
This game also giving a values to any one who played it. Like you have to learn to be more courageous when troublr comes in your life, never give up hope, and so on. (BOY! I think that I'm teaching childrens a lesson.)
I hope that the ATLAS company could create a Rhapsody 2, because of Cornet is still have a daughter, who could be a character in this game. I hope that they could create more cutiest character, but I think the first on is cute too. And more beautiful songs to hear. And that's all.

| Not for everyone, but definitely above average | | David from Ruston, Lousiana, USA says (23/Jan/2003): | Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, at first, I just knew I was going to hate. While it is an RPG, and I can play almost any RPG, I honestly thought, (no offense ladies), that this was a game more focused on female gamers. Well, I figured, what the hey, it was given to me by a friend, so why not. By the end of the first session (about three hours) I figured it was good. By the next day, I found myself singing "Let's Go On" outloud...
Graphics: Well, they are alot like SNES, but since Final Fantasy 6 (3 in the US) is my favorite RPG to date, and its SNES, that is not always a bad thing. However, I am forced to give graphics an average 5 out of 10 for the simple fact that the battle spell graphics are repetitive...They used the same graphics for different spells/abilities.
Gameplay: Its a new idea really. No macho man, with tons of deadly friends, unleashing God-like powers. Instead, it follows the story of a young girl who only wants to fall in love with her handsome prince, and once she finds him, she must embark to rescue him. Finally, a game where the GIRL saves the GUY. Also, you fight with puppets, which the main lead, Cornet, has the ability to give life to. Very nice idea, 8 out of 10.
Sound: This is where the game stands out. They chose very talented voice actors/actresses to play the parts and sing, some of the songs were okay, but "Let's Go On" was great, I still sing it sometimes to this day. :-) 11 out of 10 ;-)
Replay Value: Well, I've heard alot of people say they can play this game over and over. Well, I don't know about that. Yeah, I can play it again sometimes, but with ALL RPG's, I usually play them, then pick them back up at some undeterminable amount of time later and play them again...but since most RPG's are pretty much the same game over, I have to give replay value a 4 out of 10.
Overall: This game is one of those that is more than the sum of its parts. It has a few shortcomings, but its strengths cover those pretty well. if you enjoy a new type of adventure from the deadly serious Final Fantasy series, then definitely pick this game up. Otherwise, rent it or borrow it, if you can still even find it.

I admire this game to much, because of not only all of the characters in here are cute, having a beautiful song that I can memorize to sing, the graphics in the battle, the wonderful adnventure of Cornet, but also the one who create this game.
All of the song from Japanese and English Version of this game I have memorize it. Like one of the most favorite song is THANK YOU-Cornet, LET"S GO ON-Cornet and Etoile, EVIL QUEEN-Marjoly and the followers, OH! I think I know it all, except for the MOUNTAIN or what so ever it is.
I'm still playing it. I never get bored of playing it even, if I repeat it 10 times or more from Easy to Hard. Why I keep on playing it? Well to those who want to know, Its a secret. Just like ole' pal Ralph said it is a wonderful game. And to those who create this game, I congratulate you all of this game.
By the way, why didn't you tell about the new born baby of Cornet and Ferdinando at the end? Because of you cannot decide what would their daughter's name? I think does not it. But I hope that you can still create another Rhapsody, the part 2 with the new character, but the main character is the daughter of Cornet. Am I wierd to think of such a thing or what? Well I'm just only hoping that but I never meant that you really create one.
Anyway keep up the good work, and I hope that you never forget that there are still someone who idolized your game.

But as long as I keep on playing it, I've got to much excited on it. this game really fantastic and wonderful. Not only in the game that I got inspired, but also on it's beautiful songs that I always want to here everytime that I start playing it. I manage to record all the songs as I can and memorize it, from English verson to Japanese verson. The game graphics of this game somehow trick my eyes, but not all of this graphics, but I like the way it looks. I keep on finding all of the secrets of this game untill I succeded. I had a hard time finding those three Samurai or maybe it was called Murasami(gosh! I've forgot already, please correct me.) This game has a lot of cute characters, like CORNET(sure), Sharte, L-kun, Koro, Flare, Kururu(yes), Crowdia(I like her), Gao(I like her to even if she's had no brains at all but more muscles), the Three Eggs(Billy, Tell and Kid), Albatros, Duke and other puppets or monsters. This is a really fun game, and don't think that this game is only for the sissy players, you've got it wrong man. I keep on repeating playing this game, but I never got bored. That's all and I can't tell anymore. I wish that the ATLUS Company make a new RHAPSODY 2, this time it about the daughter of Cornet, who will became a next hero in this game. GOOD LUCK!!!

Like.. it has a baby-ish plot, I guess. You know, she (Cornet) wants to meet and marry the prince, and blah blah.. she dreams about him. Then, one day the prince saves her in the woods, so on and so forth. The natural plot for any romantic.. uh.. game. But, *grins* I LOVE the music, and.. the songs are great! I litterally get them stuck in my head! I rented the game once from the movie gallery, and then I HAD to rent it again. But the only thing, my golly! That game is harder than heck to find! I've been wanting to buy it. Normally you can find ps1 games at a store for like twenty bucks, since, they're now pretty much outdated. But.. I searched THREE stores, and couldn't find it anywhere! I found it on the internet for fourty bucks! Twice as much as I thought it was. But, I guess.. all and all.. it's worth it. The graphics are ok I guess.. It's kind of annoying having Kururu follow you all the time. -.- But.. I guess you get used to it. And Prince Ferdinand is REALLEH cute. ^^ *smiles* Well, that's about all I have to say.. this has got to be at least two hundred words. Heh. I give the game an 8, and say, if you like this game, you'll like Final Fantasy, and Kingdom Hearts as well. Thanx and peace out!

I played it at home then, it's kind of a boring game at first sight but upon playing, I knew that the game had a heart. SONGS that make you go on through difficulties and so on. A game that makes reality an easier and difficult one. It opened my heart to the feelings of others that are hidden in each masks. It had inspire me when I'm all down. I Stood up and said: "Let's Go On". It's a must see game. In comparison to other games, it has moral, spiritual and emotional message of one mother to a daughter, puppets to their owner and a friend that help you to come along. A good moral value there is determination is not enough but also the support others. There, you will learn how to value others while they are there. All are temporary that needs you to aspire and love them to the fullest. It inspire me to go on with my studies. Now, I'm both president and 1st Honor of a 120 students of the campus in the same level. The songs taught me to stand up in times of difficulty that made me not to stop aiming for the best. COOPERATION in the game is also included beacuse of the ETOILE AND CORNET game in the beating the heart. Now, I am still aiming for the best!! GO RHAPSODY!!!

About maybe 2 or 3 years later, I accomplished the game! I was sort of relieved, but sad that I finished it. I was relieved that I finished it because since I was a little kid, I thought it was impossible that I stopped playing the game for a while. When I came back to it, I finally got through the hard part and kept going! I was glad that I was able to play it again without stopping! But when I got to the end when Cornet and her mom part, I had one huge tearfest! It sooo badly touched my heart! Even though I finished the game, I keep replaying it to keep the spirit of the game inside my heart!! I wanna thank whoever created this cool game! I agree that they should make a second Rhapsody...although I don't really know how the story will continue. But with the same minds that created the first part, they'll be able to make the second as beautiful, detailed, and touching as the first part! I love Rhapsody! I may be 12 years old now, and you might assume that I think I'm too old for these games, but I must admit, this is one of the games that I have always cherished =)

sound: Well let's see, the sound is the best,and the lyrics of the song touched my heart and not only me, even my friends and classmates, and even my sister and my maid. When I was thinking of a song about family for my class presentation at school, I planned for your songs. And I think they are really gonna like it.
gameplay: The story has a meaning in our life. That is "Never give up on your dreams and be determined." for me that's the theme. And when I play it, I like Cornet's magic and attack with the horn.
About it in my life: I have never thought that I will sing it through almost everyday when I can't do something. The songs are really great I hope they can have Rhapsody 2. I really enjoyed it and I always try to play it.

This gamr rocks, who said this game is for sisses, and for girls, this game is wonderful, form grphics, gameplay, originality, fun fare, outcome, battle, and also the sound, music and song were very cool and also touch me. I like most the song "Thank You", it let my feeling show and let my tears to run. The caharaters, were very cute and also very attractive. I have painting this in my house for several times and do you know that my classmates want them as there wallet picture. This game has a lot of secret, puzzle and mystery, try to figure them all. Also Cornet and Marjoly were really sisters, this event will occur only if you ......, thought that I will tell you ha. Well, I hope the ATLUS make a Rhapsody 2 for Ps, Ps2, and Xbox. I want it now. The drawings are really awesome and I like I guess you could say life adventure games think that. Its like a girl version of pokomon. The only thing I really diddn't like about it was the music. I think its pretty dumb. This game is super addicting and I love it. Its pretty funny when they hit eachother too. I actually cried when the game ended and they had a baby!!! Ive never cried to any movie or game or whatever except home is where the heart is, the fox and the hound and the lion king. ( Ok, well its the first game!!!) However this isn't exactly the kinda thing ID get my brother,...or any guy, its kinda like a chick flick, only your on center stage!

I especially like the music gallery because i like the listening to it every now and then. But i still dont understand that if you damage a puppet you have to pay your own grandpa to fix it,can't he just do it for free? I didnt like getting lost in the caves because it took me forever to get out so i finally bought some teleporters. Now im getting better. i almost cried at the end because of Kururu. I think the makers of Rhapsody should make a second adventure, like Rhapsody- The Adventure Continues- or something like that.

I've owned Rhapsody for over 5 years and I always feel happy when I play it and I never want to give something so precious up, because it actually shows that there can be true happiness out somewhere in the world. Rhapsody is a touching and inspiring game. The graphics were wonderful, the music and singing were so beautiful, it's background and storyline was really good too. I want to keep Rhapsody forever.

In storyline , my favorite character is kururu, for me that cutie is the most beautiful in the game especially in her angelic form. The Music is inspiring, while the time I first play it, I fell that I'm reading a fairy tale book & playing game at the same time.... it's definitely a great game!!!
